My top 5 fave UK fighter of all-time
1. Prince Nas
2. Lewis
3. Nigel BEnn
4. Froch
5. Khan
Carl Froch isn't even close to boxers like Lewis, Calzaghe and Hamed. My favourite British Boxer is definitely Lennox Lewis. He was best of the last great era of HWs, avenged all defeats and could kick the **** out of any man to ever live.
Definatley Nigel benn for me! He was the guy i grew up watching. Ive got all his fights on DVD and I was always compared to him in fighting style too so I must have been brainwashed a little watching all
His fights so much when younger. I've met a lot of boxers but never him yet. One time I was supposed to box on a charity dinner that he was going to be at and I almost died with excitement haha. I ended up doing one for frank Bruno instead but Nigel watching would have been a dream come true.
Currently my favorite Brit is froch. I think he makes us all very proud with his fighting spirit.
this is a little bit hard for me as my favourite fighters aren't always the best fighters , the fighters i grew up watching were chris eubanks ,frank bruno and barry mcguigan . i loved eubanks because of the fact he was so different from most boxers ,he tried to act as a english gentleman outside the ring but he was brutal in it , eubanks could be lazy and have dull fights but when he was pushed you would see his killer instinct come out . the strange thing is i much prefer nigel Benn's style of fighting yet i seemed to land on the eubanks side of the fence .
other good british fighters lloyd honeyghan the ragamuffin man ,herol graham, duke mckenzie, dennis andries, ricky hatton, jim mcdonell, andy holighan
My favorite is Prince Madden Hamed...although, like you its hard not to consider Carl Froch a close 2nd. He is all action, skill, power, good chin and has a great resume.
Lennox Lewis was badazz. i met him for like 2 seconds at the Golden Gloves tournament in my community back in 1997. he was kind of a d!ck, but he still a beast in the ring
idk though, my favorite might be Nigel Benn. he had several great rivalries that involved some crazy and sometimes brutal fights.
Lennox was very dominant, but he lacked any classic rivalries. his two losses are viewed more as flukes
i have been to fights all over the West Coast, including Vegas...but i would love to go to the UK to see a big time fight. there would have to be at least one brother in it though, i aint fixin to fly across the Atlantic Ocean to watch two whitebois fight
I'm old school and my favorite was always Sir Henry Cooper..............Great left hook, but bigger heart , unfortunately very fragile skin. Still fought well and was always a gentleman, something many fighters are not, today.
benn, eubank and honeyghan were my favourites. bruno as well.
Mine is Lennox Lewis, b/c I grew up watching him. Not sure how you UK guys feel about him, considering he moved to Canada and fought for their Olympic team. I've seen people dispute him being "British".
He was born in the UK, so I consider him British.
I have to say though, Carl Froch is most definitely making a nice little run IMO. He's not as great as Lennox, but he's got swag, is extremely exciting and has beat a bunch of very good/elite opponents.
Lennox better watch out, b/c Froch is starting gain steam as Stick and Move's favorite British fighter ever
