As early as before his two fights versus Leon Spinks, signs of the impending Parkinson's disease had already been detected by his long time physician, Freddie Pacheco who had to quit his camp after Ali refused his advise for him to retire. That was before Ali fought the hard hitting Ernie Shavers who was able to pummel Ali with some ponderous head punches. When Ali first retired in 1979, his physical condition started to decline and he was prone to stuttering, a tell-tale sign that something was wrong.

Among the still active boxers today, I strongly believe that Roy Jones, Jr., James Toney, Evander Holyfield and Hashim Rahman ought to be told that they are no longer allowed to fight. All the people who run the US and the world knew Ali would be a huge force in politics and as a public speaker and had the personality to be as big and influential as Martin Luther King Jr and they poisoned him to keep him silent. The most influential and effective thing about Ali was his SPEAKING ability, and that is what he lost right towards the end of his boxing career right before his retired. If he still was able to speak, he would have had an even greater, massive impact on the world, but the people who are in power, you can call them the Illuminatti if you want, made sure that he wouldn't be able to talk again once he retired and stopped making everyone money. If you really think about it, it makes perfect sense. Ali didn't take any more punches to the head than any other boxer who fought as long as he did.?

I would like to believe they would have more sense today than they did in the past, but boxing has always been a sewer, and if money is to be made off the bones of an old sick, name figher, there has always been vultures waiting for the opportunity.

No. Even before facing Holmes, the damage in Ali was all but obvious. He was slurring and speaking softly and slowly, which was unusual for a man known for his loud mouth. And he didn't have the agility that a topnotch athlete is supposed to have. You wouldn't need an examination to conclude that something's wrong with him physically.

i doubt it. regulations would be pretty strict and they would been able to tell that he was in the early stages of parkinsons.

Would the Muhammad Ali who lost to Holmes and berbick around 1980,1981 be allowed to fight today. With the amount of medical examinations and check ups a modern fighter has to have before a fight would Ali even be allowed to step into the ring?? Also any current boxers who should be told they are no longer allowed to fight? Thanks
