Why not compu box instead of judges in boxing?

that is a good question. What you're basically saying is that people who land more should win more right? It is not always true however but it does tell a story about how the fight played out. Letting compu box judge instead of having actual judges can cause problems. For example, fighter a and fighter b are engaged in a close competitive fight. Fighter a has been winning most of the rounds. They both have been throwing and landing an equal number of punches. However Fighter A has been landing the harder cleaner shots. Then in one of the rounds Fighter B catches Fighter A with a good shot and knocks him down. Fighter B proceeds to land almost at will. Fighter B's punch output could have increased by 130 punches in that round alone. After the fight compubox shows Fighter B landed about 30 more punches in the entire fight. However, Fighter A has been winning basically all the rounds. So if we let compubox dictate who wins then professional boxing will become like amateur boxing. It will be who ever throws the most punches regardless if they did damage or not. People could wait until the last 3 rounds and then throw as many punches as they can even if they have been beaten and dominated all the rounds before and they can possibly win the fight provided that they landed enough in those last 3 rounds. Sorry for the long answer just wanted to give you an insight of what could happen if we let compu box judge.

Compu box as it is, is just an aid to people judging boxing bouts and yet it is not a very reliable tool given the fact that it does not measure accuracy as well as hardness and effectiveness of the punch. Machines cannot replace people in boxing and many other matters that involve human feelings, appreciation and decision-making.

well the compu box is technology.

Technology can malfunction sometimes and in a sport like Boxing, it is never 100% accurate.

Judges might rob people, but imagine what worse the compu box can do if theres an error

I agree with you...

Judges are

1) they are very Old..

2) if young but blinded by money

3) have bet to the one fighter..

every win seems controversial marquez vs pacuiao, broner vs de leon, even canelo vs trout, trout who was getting credit for punching air and arms people believe that's outboxing, fact of matter when their fighter loses they always go 'look at compu box how come he won' without the appreciation on who landed the harder punches, who did the most damage in the fight, ring generalship all that goes out the window so why not let compu box be the judge then.
