Anyone who gets hurt three times against Julio Diaz, has a bad chin, and lacks defense will not make it 12 rounds w/ Floyd, let alone 12 competitive rounds.
Khan is suppose to fight Alexander in December, and I don't have the confidence he wins that fight. DA has a good chin and even though most people don't think he has the power to hurt Khan, I think he most definitely does.
Because Mayweather wants to fight in the UK before his retirement and unfortunately, Khan is still our biggest Welterweight star. We don't have a Welter that would sell more tickets in a Mayweather fight here, but sure, you're right, he is nowhere near deserving of a crack at the P4P no.1 nor can he immediately be the no.1 contender for the world title but for the reasons I just gave, he would make the most sense in a UK showdown.
Seeing as Mayweather has 5 fights left (I think) to fulfil his contract with Showtime, one could argue that the Khan fight could be his penultimate or final fight during which time Khan could have a chance to prove himself at 147 by fighting some of the bucks you mentioned, but then GB run the risk of Khan getting KO'd or losing (a sizeable risk too) and then the appetite for the fight here would be even more depleted and the prospective PPV sales might not be enough to tempt TMT but I'll leave that headache of a dilemma to the promoters.
If Mayweather were to fight him it would be business. Khan is popular in the UK and Mayweather likes the UK.
Other than that, he brings nothing to the table. Anyone who believes Khan's speed would give Mayweather problems clearly have not learned yet.
A name opponent of little risk, the pattern is part of the Mayweather business plan. There is almost no "sport" in the sport of boxing, it is a business, and fighting Floyd is the biggest part of boxing's business. If Floyd fights Khan, I hope it ends with a first round KO, I have never been a Khan fan and both he and Paulie Malinaggi have become finical successes in spite of their lack of boxing talent. I hope both make millions off of a Mayweather fight and retire, the quicker they are both out of the picture, the quicker Floyd might fight a real opponent.
Well, you can't really say Khan is a step down from Guerrero. They're both B-level fighters, but Khan brings more money to the table. I'm sure Showtime will hype him up as some sort of 10 division champ like they did to Guerrero.
Be prepared for Khan to suddenly be pushed up the Ring Magazine rankings by Oscar, if he is announced as Mayweather's next opponent.
Well, Floyd was eyeing Khan Primali... So people put Khan there just in case Floyd wants another sure win.lol
i haven't heard any british fanboys praising khan in fact i think it's the other way round ,brits have known that khan is a bit chinny for years and i think he gets bigged up more by non brits who seem to see him as the next manny at one point .
Prepare your self to see a lot more of this out of Mayweather. He's going to continue to fight opponents that have no real chance of threatening his undefeated record so he can retire from his own over hyped perspective the greatest of all time
Khan is the weakest chin in boxing history...He has skills, power, speed but no chin at all...Floyd wants to fool boxing fans again thinking that its a good competition to fight khan...Not at all...Khan has no chin to survive floyds accurate punches...Floyd could easy KO khan...Im glad that you also understand about this khan and floyd thing man....LOL...
The Boy recently got put to sleep, and even lost the fight before that to Petersen. He recently went the distance with "julio diaz" and even got dropped in that fight. hasn't even fought at 147 yet, but all of a sudden he deserves a shot at Mayweather...??
It makes me laugh when i hear all these british fanboys of Khan say that he would give Mayweather alot of 'trouble'. Khan would get put to sleep, he is not even the best in his division. Matthysse would knock him out, Garcia destroyed him, even Rios would beat him. he has to at least prove himself at 147, perhaps with a fight against Victor Ortiz or Berto, to prove himself worthy. Saying he deserves a shot against Mayweather right now is ridiculous.
british fan boys or floyd fan boys????
and not only khan... i'm also hearing malignaggi and alexander
WTF?!!!!
