A relatively safe, name opponent with a reasonable enough fan base to generate big pay per view numbers. Personally I don't believe Khan deserves a Mayweather fight, but I am not the ones promoting the fight, only Show Time and Floyd know the real answer to this one, everyone else can only speculate.
Amir has more following than Garcia. Millions from Pakistan, middle east, and UK are "expected" to give support.
Floyd is the biggest fight out there for Amir which could give him his biggest payday especially if the fight will be held in UK. I think Amir is through fighting at 140 lbs due to issue with the weight. Amir has had sputtering finishes in that division especially in his last three, four fights and I think this has got to do with his difficulties meeting the weight limit..
Easiest fight for the most money, the Mayweather con artistry continues. Can't believe people still pay for these fights considering all the great fighters Floyd never faced. He's more businessman than fighter now.

Its all about money, not who's deserving. Floyd, and the Klitschko's have been doing this for last 6 years. Fighting guys coming in off losing streaks.
Because Floyd knows he can beat Khan's @ss all day every day whereas with Danny Swift there is a chance he could lose to him...go figure...plus Khan is very well known...as is Danny but Danny recognition is only starting to explode...
Floyd is choosing someone who poses the least risk along with the most reward. Its what he's done throughout his career.
