Why doesn't Timothy Bradley have a larger fanbase?

Because he's uninteresting outside the ring. Boxing fans these days are used to hearing about their fighters doing all sorts of extra curricular activities or getting in the news for all sorts of things which add to the hype surrounding the guy. He gives boring interviews and doesn't stand out much. It's not his fault that he's a normal guy outside the ring and just wants to get on with his own business instead of playing to the camera's and the audiences creating drama out of nothing. Of course it didn't help either that he was gifted a ridiculous decision against one of the most popular fighters of the era.

It's a shame that a hard worker like Timothy who has produced results and shown what he's capable of on numerous occasions doesn't get the recognition or respect he deserves but it usually takes some time for a guy like him to win over fans and gain a following. Hopefully he'll take a step towards accomplishing that in 2014.

I respect and like Bradley as a fighter. I think he's skilled, tough, and durable, but the lack of power huts him a bit, as well as him just not being all that interesting outside the ring. He's a quiet, humble guy that just goes about his business. Some say he's even boring, He's not looking for all the negative attention and he's not a loudmouth, he's just a solid PRO that I have respect and admiration for. Even though he took a lot heat for the Pacquiao verdict, it wasn't HIS fault that the judges scored the fight the way they did yet people made it seem like he did something wrong. All he did was fight, he had no control over the outcome, and I think he's redeemed himself a bit with good wins over Provodnikov and JM Marquez. If he beats Pac in the rematch, he should get a fight with Floyd. Probably unlikely with all the TR vs GB nonsense going on, but who out there at 147 would be more deserving of a shot at Floyd other than Bradley if he beats Pac convincingly on April 12th? I'd love to see that fight. I'd pick Floyd to win but it would be a good match up.

You pose an interesting question. I've mentioned this about Bradley before. His last three fights certainly did more for his career than the sum total of his previous fights.

.

As someone earlier mentioned and I mentioned before, race is a very sensitive topic. When it concerns Blacks, most people would rather not discuss it. Most people tend to have an unrealistic view of race issues. The truth is that victims complain more than they should and perpetrators deny more than they should. It's just human nature to not want to hear the details of someone else' problems.

.

Part of Bradley's situation involves some of these harsh truths. Boxing has been full of mouthy bald Black guys. To some, they must seem to be a dime a dozen. It' doesn't help Bradley that the top fighter in the sport also happens to be a mouthy, bald Black guy. Bradley is good but he's certainly no Mayweather, Bradley is a bit like the guy who made it to the patent office second.

.

In every way you can compare Bradley to Mayweather, he seems boring by comparison. In fact, they've fought in the same divisions for nearly ten years and Bradley has hardly ever been mentioned as an opponent that fans would like to see with Mayweather.

.

As a fighter, anything you can say about Bradley, more can be said of Mayweather. As a man, Bradley's a decent guy. Mayweather is still far more interesting to discuss, read about or listen to.

.

Again, the Provodnikov and Marquez fights have certainly improved Bradley's popularity. By contrast, the Alexander fight tarnished him severely because, again, both talked trash and produced one of history's most boring fights. The terrible decision over Pacquiao incensed some. Bradley's refusal to admit that he actually accepted the defeat, before the announcement, plus his bold words after, pushed some away.

.

The Pacquiao rematch will do more for him. I think it's a foolish fight for Pacquiao because he has much more to lose than gain. Bradley risks an undefeated record but most don't care about that anyway. People are paying to see Pacquiao fight him, not the other way around.

.

Bradley's "win" over Pacquiao does little except make some want to see him lose. However, unlike Mayweather, Bradley never played a villain. Most could care less whether he wins or loses. People usually tune in to see his opponent, not him.

.

For all his talk, Bradley lacks a KO punch. People want to see blood and knockouts. Bradley is always in great shape but his physique tends to mask the fact that he's not a great puncher.

.

Again, the fights with Pacquiao, Provodnikov and Marquez certainly helped Bradley's popularity.

I think he will have his time at the top once he beats Pacquiao more convincingly this time and projects himself as Top rank's main man against Floyd Mayweather. If Arum plays his cards well with Bradley, I think he is in the best position to exact revenge against Mayweather and also Oscar de la Hoya, his two former prized wards and cash cows who dared broke off with him at the height of their popularity. It does not help that Arum has the tendency to discredit and even freeze fighters with slick styles as Bradley, Gamboa and Rigondeux. Boxing fans should be taught how to appreciate smart, scientific styles of boxing.

This won't be popular but: being black makes it difficult to get credit in boxing, i feel there is subliminal/unintentional racism in the boxing. Combine that with the fact that he doesn't have a notably wild lifestyle/personality that is portrayed by the media or a particularly 'fan favourite' style doesn't help either. I don't find his fights dull besides the Alexander fight but many do, the one undeniably exciting fight he had against Ruslan some give him credit but many others say he was given a gift and was lucky to escape considering the punishment he took. But of course when Gatti and Ward or Barrera and Morales beat each other to death they get all the credit in the world.

The controversial decision against Pacquiao doesn't help either. Mayweather had to employ the villain role to get butts on seats, Tyson had the spectacular knockout power AND the villain role.

Then i look at other guys like Holmes, Hagler, Ward, Rigondeaux who are all great boxers and get their due credit by the hardcores, yet none of these fighters have got that widespread recognition. I try to deny it and say it's not true, however i can't help but think it's more than just a coincidence. It's because they're black.

He hasn't really beaten anybody in a way that makes people like him.

He beat Alexander with the use of headbutts. He avoided Khan to fight Pacquiao and was awarded a decision. He beat Marquez but he didn't engage him much. Even Floyd to the fight to Marquez. Bradley barely got by Provodnikov. He barely gets by his fights.

He also has no character, or personality to sell.

Hey,

This is a good guide with a step-by-step method to get your hair back http://hairagain.toptips.org

Male hair loss is the most common type of hair loss. It's caused by increased sensitivity to male sex hormones (androgens) in certain parts of the scalp, and is passed on from generation to generation. There are many factors that can attribute to hair recession or massive hair fall. You can try to regain your full head of healthy hair by following natural methods: they are cheaper, they have no side effect and very often more effective than conventional one.

As said above an interesting guide you can follow to get your hair back and prevent future hair loss without dangerous chemicals and drugs, and without expensive supplements or painful hair transplants is available on this site: http://hairagain.toptips.org

TIm bradley just wasnt too lucky as he's lived in the time of Mayweather and PAcquiao. Such was the case of Marquez, Bhop, Ward, among others. They proved to be too skilled, but the time wasnt theirs. Its Manny's or Floyd's either way. That's what its been for the last ten years

His personality is dull and his style is not fan friendly. Boxing fans want excitement and Bradley do not have that ingredient. However, he find ways to win his fights.

haha, fanbase? maybe its his trimmed eyebrows, nobody likes it when men trims their eyebrows. or maybe, just maybe, he should apply for citizenship on a 3rdworld country to get a nation as a fanbase...

well, aint yall accused arum of pulling strings to giftwrap tims victory over pacquiao...

if he do the same on the rematch, pacs career is finished...and tim will be arums new cashcow? tim aint got no ko power thats why hes got no fanbase...

it will be stup!d for arum if he allows the same thing to happen on their rematch and destroy his cashregister in pac

I feel that people tend to underrate him as a boxer. He's fast, highly skilled, iron chinned, has great defence and to be honest his punching power isn't all that bad. He has just come off an impressive win over Marquez (who Brutally KO'd Pacquiao). Yet lower calibre fighters like Amir Khan and Marcos Maidana get much more hype and attention than Bradley? Some people say Bradley is a boring fighter, however I disagree with that. His fight against Provodnikov was spectacular. Bradley is a great fighter and he has has my respect for a long time.

I'm predicting him to win a decision over Pacquiao in their next fight.

I mean look at his recent resume'!!

Marquez, Provodnikov, Pacquiao, Casamayor, Alexander, Abregu, Lamont Peterson, Campbell, Holt.

Considering he's 31-0, that's a damn good record. Hopefully his best is yet to come.

He isn't flamboyant enough for the black community. Mexicans don't root for anyone that isn't of their race. He really doesn't have a potential fanbase.

allot of people lost allot of respect for him when he got schooled by pac but still won.

bradley style is boring , there's no excitement in his fighrts..

Because his style isn't pleasing too many
