Mayweathers fights are "boring" because he does'nt take risks and does'nt get hit alot. It's never a "war". It's a boxing clinic. He does'nt provide the gruesome imagary that say a pacquiao does.
And his PPV following also has a large group who want to see him lose. Even tho he never will....

B) He picks opponents who are consider threats (before the fight) and have large fan bases (usually Mexicans lately).
C) Floyd fans...I know people like to say it's strictly people wanting to see him lose but Floyd has fans.
D) Part of C is the Casual Fight Fan who only watches the big events...meaning Mayweather or Pacquiao PPV
E) Haters... people who hate Floyd and are dying to see the 0 go
F) His role as loud mouth villian which make up for E. (Ali, Tyson, Jack Johnson)
G) Promotion... with the power of HBO, now Showtime/CBS behind him and strategies like 24/7 and All Access, being on WWE and Dancing with the Stars raise the profile of him and his fights.

J) Floyd is the purest fighter and the best. Some people actually enjoy seeing his mastery.
He knows how to attract fans that love or hate him. But I say it's alot of the hate fans because they wanna see him lose so bad, so they hype up a fighter and Floyd beats him. He's a good business man and him and golden boy know how to make money.
He knows how to market himself and promote his fights just like Ali. He portrays himself as the the arrogant villain so people wanted him to get beat so they'd come and watch his fights either live or on PPV.
He knows how to sell a fight. He put s on the black hat and runs with it. Thats is to say he wants to be the bad guy. So people who dont like him watch to see him lose. And people who do like him and respect his outstanding boxing skills just watch him to see him do what he does best. He is a very intelligent promoter and figther.
But those same fans who call him boring order the fight because he is a interring fighter and he is one of the best all round pure boxer ever and if they don't order it they go some where to watch him and that's why his ppv numbers are crazy that and the fact the opposition is always some one who has a large following

He is a master at hyping up his fights. He talks smack, disrespects his opponents and that breeds strong feelings in casual fans. They would pay money to see him win or lose. His fanbase itself is huge and if he has a Big B-Side, like Canelo, he barely needs to talk trash
He is famous because he talks trash thus many people have strong feelings for him [they either love him or hate him].
Many casual fans have told me that they buy his ppv to watch him loose [which hasn't happened yet except for the Castillo fight].
Mayorga has been on a loosing streak but he has had big fights which sell big thanks to his big mouth [he also talks crap].
