Um no Canelo is obviously more European than anything at all. He's not a typical Mexican with dark brown hair and brown eyes. He wouldn't have red hair if he were that much Indian. I doubt he's Indian at all. He's either mostly Euro or pure. And not all Mexicans are from the Aztecs.
My man, I am actually writing a chapter for a book on this very topic. I gave a talk in Albuquerque, New Mexico in February about this. If you go on white supremacist web sites, such as Stormfront, their forums contain several messages from bigots who are trying to claim Saul Alvarez as a white man. Ironically, they attempt to invoke Canelo's success in the ring as alleged "proof" of white supremacy...despite Canelo being 100 percent Mexican!
By the way, these racists attempt to do the same thing with Sergio Martinez. What I find so funny about these white power buffoons is that they are trying to claim Alvarez and Martinez as white folks, when there are a lot of "real" whites in the sport today (the Klitschkos, Carl Froch, Mikkel Kessler, Katsidis, Pavlik, Tomas Adamek, etc.). What gives?
Most ironic is that the white supremacist idiots want to claim Canelo for their own racist agenda, but white opposition to Mexican immigration is one of the issues that white supremacists b*tch and complain about most!

Latinos are all mixed with something. They are not an original race.
You'd be surprised at how racist fair skinned Mexicans are against darker people of their country. Mexicans are part Native American, part European and part African. The reason they hate Puerto Ricans is because PRs are mixed with more African than Mexicans are. Cubans, Dominicans and other Latin groups all have some African heritage. Mexicans have less but still some.... It's not very popular for ANY lighter skinned group to ever claim any link to Africa.
Mexicans are one of the many groups of foreign people who are obsessed with white Americans. Many of them are marrying whites in an effort to "lighten" their race.
There is NO WAY that Alverez is 100% Mexican, not as we know it, even if he was born in Mexico. He's obviously mostly European. With all the problems Mexico has with corruption from the government down to the lowest levels of society, it wouldn't surprise me to learn that he was switched at birth and raised there... I know it sounds far fetched but it's certainly possible.. Either way, anyone who believes he's 100% Mexican is disillusion and probably wouldn't claim him if not for his success. ., . His mother is fair skinned so it's possible that he gets his skin from her. However, it's not very likely.

I keep reading these comments on youtube about "Irish warrior" and ****! Seriously, in this photo you can see his mom who is right besides him and his dad who has a red shirt. They are clearly not white! For all I know canelo is only 10 percent white(just by his skin tone and hair) an 90 percent Aztec(indian by his eyes and facial features)!
