They didn't really move, HBO is the one boycotting Golden Boy. It wasn't a good relationship though, b/c of who's the boss at Showtime.

He was Golden Boy's main attorney, and after he got the Showtime job obviously GB got a lot of favors and HBO/other promotions were not happy about it.
It can't last forever, GB's roster is too deep and is the best in boxing. HBO will have to come around, who knows how long though.
Mayweather is not with Golden Boy hes with TMT permotions. The reason Golden Boy left was because HBO was not willing to match the deal Showtime was offering. Mayweather left first with the biggest deal in boxing.
Um it doesn't matter what show they're on Top Rank would've kept the fight from happening period. HBO favored Top rank over Golden boy and Mayweather and they cut all ties with Golden Boy. So GBP moved and they're quite successful.
