Floyd Mayweather has only had 2 fights at 154lbs, both were competitive. Oscar de la Hoya lost a split decision and i had the Cotto fight close, Cotto busted Mayweathers face.
With that said; Mayweather is a technical boxer and to beat a great technical boxer you need a great swarmer.
Canelo Alvarez is not a swarmer.
Alvarez is the strongest and only man in his prime that Floyd has fought at 154lbs, if it were to have been at 154lbs i would pick a close win for Canelo, but the fight is in a catchweight of 152lbs [in Floyds favor].
Canelo wont come in bigger than Floyd & he's not a volume puncher [swarmer] like Margarito or Pacquiao.
If Canelo doesn't come in drained I'll go close ud victory for Floyd, Canelos only chance of winning isn't to out-box Floyd but to land a good shot, which can happen.
If Canelo comes in drained, it will be a one-sided ud victory for Money.
I think Canelo has a good a shot as any fighter at 147-154 giving Floyd his first loss. That being said, Floyd wins a competitive 8 rounds to 4 decision.
Floyd Mayweather
There is the chance that Alvarez might land a lucky punch or that age catches up to Floyd, but aside from that I don't see any way Alvarez could beat him. Floyd is faster and he is extremely hard to hit. Power doesn't mean anything if Alvarez can't hit him. Alvarez also has poor stamina and Floyd doesn't get tired. He takes his opponent's strengths away from them. He knows how to adjust to any style. Alvarez I don't think is truly ready. I don't think it's going to hit him until he steps into that ring with him. He is going to wake up and see that it's not a smaller fighter, it's the best Pound for Pound boxer in the world.
Think of it this way. Cotto did some good damage to Money and he's done as a fighter imagine Canelo who's now entering his prime with more power and is stronger ? Don't be so sure Money will win. I got Alvarez by SP or UD possibly KO
I pick Floyd by decision but wouldn't be surprised if Canelo won. Based on Mayweather's last fight, I believe he's starting to slip.
w/ canelo, all he got is his big punches... but w/o stamina, no way he can apply pressure to floyd.. aw man, this will be a boring night for all the fans once again...seeing floyd floats like a butterfly sting like a bee, the only difference is he aint ali, w/ floyd fighting in a catchweight to drain the already no-stamina canelo....boring boring night indeed
Mayweather, he is unbeatable no matter who he fights if he fights them at the weight he agrees you can 100% guarantee its a win. He doesnt take boxers to compete, he takes boxers because he knows no one out there can touch him.
Im taking money on this one Canelo won't touch him. What do yall think?
