Hello. Love the Cinderella Man who was an inspiration to miilions during the Great Depression upsetting Baer to take the heavweight crown. He had a ton of heart and showed what a never say die attitude can do for you. He was tough and a pretty good puncher. Mike Tyson was a very intimidating and certainly a fast and vicious puncher and seemed to have two careers, one where he seemed invinciple and the other of a crazed man both in and out of the ring lacking in stability. I believe that physically Tyson would be too much for Braddock. Braddock would fight gamely and would not give up but after multiple knockdowns, the referee would stop the fight in about 5 rounds.
He took The Great Joe Louis bombs for 8 rounds back in 1937, before he was knocked out. Tyson would win,but Cinderella Man should protect his ears because Mike might get hungry. Tyson by knockout, Braddock is a flat footed fighter and a sitting target with a sign hung on him that says",Please Hit Me". TKO 8..
I have never been a big fan of Mike Tyson, but Braddock would be in way over his head against Mike. Odds are good it would end quickly, and Tyson would KO James J. rather easily.
James J Braddock isn't even a heavyweight, he's a lightheavyweight, and even then, he was fighting in a time when boxers were much smaller. If his boxing skills were exceptional, I might give him a chance, lightheavyweights and cruiserweights have bested heavyweights before, but his boxing technigue was good, but nothing special, got allot of wins on his tough chin and his grit, but against a master like Iron Mike that isn't enough, you gotta have skill. MIke Tyson was a modern heavyweight, at 220 lbs, he was huge, making up for his relatively short height of 5'10. He was a boxer puncher, meaning well rounded, excellent jab, excellent head movement, foot movement, combination punching, counter punching, ko power, and just about everything. Braddock, from what I"ve seen, was a textbook boxer, establish jab, throw right hand, no head movement, foot movement static, he had a solid chin and determination, but Iron Mike has beaten a ton of guys like that.
Mike Tyson KOs him in the 8th round.
Braddock was tough and had a lot of heart but against the fast, powerful, ferocious Mike Tyson of 1988 I think he would be out of his depth. I would pick Tyson to win by TKO within four rounds.
The realistic answer is Mike Tyson KO in 1
Tyson
Tyson definitely
Both guys are extremly strong right? So in a make believe fight, with both of them in there prime who would win?
