Nobody really knows, that is why they fight, but you have to believe Floyd Mayweather is the favorite and Canelo Alvarez the underdog. It's going to be a great fight no matter who wins, and should Mayweather pull it off, even his most vocal critics will be silenced. Canelo Alvarez is without a doubt the most dangerous opponent Mayweather has faced, and the same can be said for Alvarez, Floyd is nothing like anyone Alvarez has faced. This is the type of fight that ends or creates legacies, sometimes at the same time. A true "super fight", man I can't wait for this one it's going to be epic.
i dont think canelo has any weapon against floyd but his weight...
cotto who is smaller and more experienced was able to corner and hurt floyd..
canelo aint in his prime yet and still lacks experience...and i think slower than cotto
his bombs at 154 is now reduced to 152 w/c matters a lot... like i said, it's the only weapon he got...
if 2lbs wont even matter, why bother w/a catchweight, beating canelo at 154 will shut everybodies mouth...
is canelo going to win?.. sure yea, if he can catch floyd on the early rounds, past that will be impossible, his weight will drain his stamina on the later rounds, he'll go slower, his puncher becomes weaker...while floyd remains faster and even becomes smarter round after round.
the purpose of a catchweight is so that a huge sized opponent would have consequences if he chose to rehydrate w/o a limit... consequences such as losing stamina, speed and power due to dehydration w/c mostly occures on the later rounds ...
canelo's too slow he wont be able to catch floyd on the early rounds, and would grow tired and weary on the later rounds... his chin will save him from a KO but his skill level aint enough to reach upto the last bell, floyd is way too fast, canelo9 will probably be another gatti...he might retire
It'll be yet another UD victory for Mayweather. He is too quick and too effective. It is so disheartening for a fighter who constantly cannot hit his forever moving target and I believe, like many before him, Canelo will get frustrated and lose heart and get picked off for enough rounds to see him suffer his first loss as a professional
Canelo has the tools to beat or even knock Floyd out. But he gotta play it smart because Floyd is a very intelligent fighter. He's got to bring the fight to Floyd, put pressure on him. If he allows Floyd to dictate the fight, he'll end up like Guerrero.
