Likely to be Khan as he brings the most money to the table at this moment. UK fans can create a buzz for the fight, Mayweather is actually more liked over here than in the US it seems.
Ellerbe and Mayweather said that in terms of atmosphere and buzz Hatton was the most exciting they were involved in. Obviously Khan does not carry the same fan base but is well known on both sides of the pond.
Maidana is such an easy fight for Floyd, will be similar to the Carlos Baldomir fight. Not sure that will creat any excitement.
He should fight Maidana. He really doesn't have anything but a punchers chance but but he is coming off a big win. Khan may have a larger following but no one really cares about Khan aside from UK fans. Maidana should be the man if Garcia doesn't want to step up.
He haven't made up his mind yet. He said he will announce his pick a week ago but haven't. I believed that Showtime have something to do with it since they loss money when Floyd fought Guerrero. They will likewise bound to loss if Floyd decided to fight either Khan or Maidana. To justify the pick and promote the match up would be hard for Showtime since both doesn't have enough fan base in the US where Floyd used to fight. I doubt if the network is willing to have a second Gurrero/Floyd. Amir was trying to promote Dubai as the venue but I highly doubt if Floyd would ever fight outside of Las Vegas where they can dictate and manipulate the blood test (put in mind the two or three result where they were able to hide the result). Showtime got a contract with Mayweather Jr. paying a huge amount and to even consider that they are willing to sacrifice for the sake of boxing fans or anybody is ridiculous. They want not just their money back but with appropriate earnings.
It would be another fighter other than Amir and Maidana. I don't see any fighter out there who deserved more than Manny Pacquiao in all aspects that Showtime is willing to accept. Floyd invented and made so much crap about fighting Pacquiao that it would be hard for him to go back and lose face so, we can rule that one out. I would like to see him fight an Afro American boxer. Have you notice that he haven't fought one for a long time now? Time to do it.
