You can't cross heavyweights against the smaller guys. It's almost a different sport.
Floyd is the more complete fighter, all other things being equal, tho.
I think there could now be strong arguments for Floyd Mayweather in term of longevity and continued viability as a champion boxer. At age 38, Ali was already kaput as a fighter, gone was his speed and most of his skills. Mayweather seems to get better as he aged. Ali had to change his style when he got old and slower and more vulnerable to his younger, stronger opponents and that include oftentimes sacrificing his body to tire and wear down foes because he could not longer sustain his float like a butterfly style. Floyd does not have to do that due to his great defense.
But in terms accomplishments and impact and contribution to boxing, the greatest is still Ali!
If they were in the same weight class Floyd Mayweather would literally toy and dominate the self proclaimed 'greatest heavyweight of all time' Even Ali admits he is not the greatest pound for pound fighter off all time as he states that honor clearly goes to 'Sugar' Ray Robinson
If they were in the same weight class,it would be close but I'd have to go with Ali. Mayweather might be the pound for pound boxer NOW,but Ali is the best period.
It depends on what your definition of great means. In terms of pure boxing skill, I have to give it to Mayweather. But who really care Two completely different fighters and both are two of the greatest of all time.
Out of the two, its Muhammad Ali.
I'm a fan of Mayweather, but nobody compares to the GOAT.
Ali's era had WAY more competition..golden era of heavyweight boxing...
Floyd
Ali, period. Stop dreaming.
ali is overrated
Who?
Me after I fist **** your mom in her pussy, don't ever say Mayweather.
