Earnie Shavers.
Muhammad Ali, who fought some of the greatest boxers ever, as well as some of the hardest punchers ever (Frazier, Foreman, Liston, etc.), was asked this question, and he stated, without hesitation, "Earnie Shavers". He said that Shavers hit so hard, his family in Africa felt it.
But not only Ali stated this. Joe Bugner, Larry Holmes, Tex Cobb, Ron Lyle, and Ken Norton all answered the same question, with the same answer, Earnie Shavers.
He has, unofficially, been credited as the hardest hitting heavyweight boxer of all time. You could argue that Mike Tyson or Rocky Marciano could be in the race. But if these high profile boxers say Shavers, who am I to argue?
So I say, Earnie Shavers!
