Top three heavyweight jabs in my opinion in ascending order read like this:
3. George Foreman, very underrated because he was such a fearsome puncher, George had a thudding powerful jab that set up a lot of his opponents when he chose to use it. Truth be told it was the basis of George's second career, a solid weapon that both kept opponents at bay and set up KO's.
2. Sonny Liston, another power puncher, Liston's jab was fearsome, a weapon in and of itself that was described by those on the receiving end of it as like getting hit with a 2x4, Sonny had maybe the most powerful jab in history and I put him as slightly better than Big George.
1. The best jab in heavyweight history belongs to Larry Holmes. Not only was Larry's jab powerful, it was so fast and accurate that Larry could dominate whole fights with just his jab and control opponents for the entire length of the fight with it. Text book to the point of his tapes are still used to teach young heavyweight the right mix of jabbing and footwork.
Ali's jab was like a left uppercut/straight left hybrid, so rapid in his prime. Larry Holmes had a great jab too. But for me the best jab is Wlad Klitscho. So nasty.
Quickest or most destructive?
Ali was the fastest heavy weight I have seen.
His jab was amazingly quick.
Liston and Holmes had harder more powerful jabs.
Larry Holmes 100 percent had the greatest Jab all around. It was quick and powerful.
I'm not sure but Larry Holmes had a nice jab
wladimir klitschko
My vote would go to the underated Mike Dokes
