Roger, Floyd Sr. and Jeff. In that order. We know that Roger won titles at 130 and 140 and he was indeed a good champion. However, I always felt that Floyd Sr. made better use of defense than Roger ever did and he had the greater potential based on his skills.
.
Roger scored some KOs at 130 and was often compared to, and viewed as a "miniature Thomas Hearns". However, he didn't have Hearns' offensive weapons or speed. Also, p4p, Roger's power doesn't compare to Hearns'. To clarify that, for those who might be thinking of weight classes, Roger didn't "move" fighters in his division the way Hearns did in his.
.
Floyd's career was cut short by personal problems and an eventual prison stint of 5 years. I felt he could have reversed the loss to Marlon Starling with better management. However, at that time, Mayweather's career was already in the midst of problems.
.
Jeff never amounted to as much as did Roger. We won two lightly regarded titles at jr. lightweight but his record wasn't exactly littered with household names.
.
Roger accomplished more but Floyd was the better overall fighter. Both were better than Jeff.
Floyd was the ONLY jr who could whoop a world class boxer father sr.
Which Mayweather was the best boxer?
Boxing history will look back 20 years from now and the only Mayweather it has known is FLoyd " Money" Mayweather, the best undefeated if not the greatest undefeated boxer OF ALL TIME
I think Floyd Mayweather Sr. was the best. If you include Jr. then Floyd Mayweather Jr is the best.
Roger
Roger Mayweather because he was a two division world boxing champion---at 130 lbs.and 140 lbs. and had acquired the reputation as Latin Assasin for his signature wins over Mexicans nd other Latin fighters He won the WBA junior lightweight title by stopping the legendary long-reigning Puerto Rican champion Sammy Serrano inside eight round in 1983 and after two successful defenses, he lost the title by shock first round KO to fellow American Rocky Lockridge in 1984 and falling by points decision in his next fight versus Tony Baltazar. He would fail to regain the title in 1985, losing by 8th round TKO to Julio Cesar Chavez After going 7-2 in his next 9 fights losing just to Freddie Pendleton and Pernell Whitaker in lightweight bouts, Roger would win his second world title by stopping another high profile Mexican champion Rene Arredondo in 1987.After four successful defenses including three against Latinos ( Fidel Avendano, Gato Gonzales and Vinny Pazienza ) Roger lost the title to old nemesis JC Chavez by 10th round retirement. He would finish his career at 59 (35Kos) wins -13 (6KOs) losses and no draws. Ironically, Roger would suffer 5 of his 7 last defeats against Latinos including to Avendano, Rafael Pineda 9 for the vacant IBF title ), Zack Padilla, Jose Sobrepena and Ray Lovato. His other losses in that stretch were to Darryl Tyson and Kostya Tzsyu in another failed bid to regain the IBF title at 140 lbs...
Roger, though a legit contender for years as welterweight never won a world title while Jeff just won the fringe IBO junior lightrweight title in compiling a so-so 32 (10)-10 (2 ) record.
This can't be a serious question?
The mayweather that beat Dela hoya and Miguel cotto is better.
maybe the coward one
get a life.. stop praying and praising your God Mayweather
I would guess Floyd Jr would easily be agreed upon but out of Floyd Sr, Roger and Jeff who was the best?
