LOL, Yeah, He and Joe Frazier had some great fights. But, I would say the Sonny Liston fight was the most historically remembered fight. I used to enjoy watching Cassius Clay, then, Muhammad Ali box. HE IS THE GREATEST. Have never seen anyone who was in such a class of their own. I mean that man was an example of Pugilists, that was beyond belief. They way he worked the ring, could punch and score at will, was awesome.
He seems like a truly great man also. We all have our faults, But, it will be a sad day when he is gone. It is not at all correct to mention boxing, without mentioning how good, and never to be matched Muhammad Ali is.
A service to the world that his fights are still available to see. And Angelo Dundee R.I.P. sir. He did his job perfectly, and even made it comical at times. What a pair.
Muhammad Ali will and always be the greatest heavyweight in most people's list and their champion in every sense. But sad to say most of Ali's supposedly greatest victories were surrounded by controversies. His fights against Liston were said to have been fixed. Liston quitting in his stool was something never new alright. But then again that's the Big Bear Sonny Liston, ATG and purposely there to annihilate the young Clay. The phantom punch by ALi in the rematch clearly aint enough to make a beast like Liston stay down and unable to beat the count. The same goes with the fight against George Foreman, the loose ropes, the spiked water etc. The salt, the torn gloves vs Cooper, etc. Make no mistake about it! Im a huge Ali fan just like anyone else here on this beloved site but just like the old adage, 'where there's smoke, there's fire'. And great people, showbiz personalities, politicians, athletes alike, cant be exempted of controversies, and scandals too. They simply go with greatness
What was muhammad ali's biggest victory?
IMHO the greatest fight of all time is/was the Thrilla in MAnila and Ali right there, claimed his greatest victory. Joe Frazier was Ali's arch nemesis, his demon. Frazier beat Ali when nobody else could. The rematch was great but the third one was greater. Come to think of this, Ali knocked out Liston, Ali knockout George, Ali had no other mission in Manila but to knock Joe too. He didnt, but it was a TKO when Frazier's corner opted him to quit..and it was a lot sweeter. This was by far Ali's biggest victory in my book
Hard to say because of all of his great boutings.
His biggest fight, the ''Fight of the Century'', was not a victory but he beat Frazier in both rematches which was huge. His win over Liston and Foreman were also huge. I would say his win over Liston was his biggest because it was a start of a ''new era''.
Liston got him on the map
Frazier were wars
Foreman was great, because he was old
Stunning sonny liston and the boxing world in the first clay vs liston fight
f*ck off ONE... hope you dont get the same disease when you hit 70...
his greatest win is his 3rd fight against frazier... that fight was to the death if referee carlos padilla didnt care for the safety of both champs...
the foreman fight only happened bc foreman beat frazier who just beat ali... ali proved experience is superior over youth and power when he beat young george...whats the big deal about that
Not against Parkinson. I'll tell you that.
was it his upset stoppage win over the fearsome world champion sonny liston his knockout win over unstoppable power puncher geroge foreman or his 3rd epic fight with joe frazier.
