What if Old Oscar didnt abandon his jab vs floyd?

And also didn't gas out, would he have won or gotten a draw? Obviously he was doing well until he gassed out and abandoned his jab.

what if delahoya was prime?

De La Hoya was 2-2, in his last 4 fights coming into the Floyd fight. Was KO'd by B-Hop, took a Year, and a half off, was drunk, coked up. Came back fought another burn out in Mayorga, then took on Floyd, he still gave Floyd a fight somehow, but the jab, wasn't the only problem.

He may have got himself into a position to get the robbery decision. I thought that he abandoned the jab because Floyd kept countering him with the straight right?

Floyd was beating him the whole fight. Oscar's biggest problem was his stamina. You can't have much of a chance against Floyd if you can't fight 12 rounds. He was also missing a great many of his punches which probably tired him out faster.

Floyd still would have won. The only reason it was an SD and not UD was because Oscar was the man at the time.

He could have won obviously. But fitness is a big part of boxing and his stamina caught up.

By the time he fought Pacquiao he was even older and less fit still. His decline was clear even before these fights though. Felix Sturm beat him at 160 and got robbed. Pacquiao more or less beat up a promoter when he fought him. Only Trinidad and Mosley beat the "real" DeLaHoya.

And also didn't gas out, would he have won or gotten a draw? Obviously he was doing well until he gassed out and abandoned his jab.
