Thoughts?
Hopkins had to choose between Adonis Stevenson or Kovalev, so he chose Kovalev instead. Kovalev has youth, long straight punches, and power, i don't know how the old short armed defensive fighter Hopkins will deal with it, but he's got experiece on kovalev.
Hopkins must have seen SOMETHING in Kovalev that emboldened him to say that it would be an easy fight, "in fact, my easiest fight in years since Kelly Pavlik".
The oddsmakers are not convinced and they installed Kovalev a slight favorite.
I have a strong feeling some people will be in for their biggest disappointments.
I favor Bhop on this one.
I can see B-hop doing his usual hit, spin and hold tactics trying to score points but stay out of danger. He's a smart fighter, but IMO, Kovalev is the unknown and we'll see the demise of Hopkins by either TKO stoppage or loss by SD.
The odds sound about right. A part of me thinks Hopkins got one big win left, but their is also the possibility an old man catches a beating.
pretty normal odds seems to me. Kovalev to win by ud or ko in late rounds
I know Hopkins is a master technician and all but I fear for his health in this fight because he's almost 50. But then again he's surprised us before.
I hope Kovalev defeats that old fker.
I don't understand American betting odds. In the UK Kovalev is 4/11, Hopkins 11/5 and the draw at 28/1. If you understand those odds in the way I have written it then my answer is Hopkins is worth a punt at 11/5, absolutely. I don't think the outcome of this fight is a foregone conclusion, the upset is more than possible and if anyone can do it, The Executioner can
