It's a good fight and Maidana deserves the shot based on recent momentum but with all due respect I give him a punchers chance in this fight. Maidana could only dream of having a jab as good as Cotto, he can throw his slow jab only to be pull countered repeatedly not to mention Cotto was at 154 lbs.
I see this fight going the same way the Mayweather vs Hatton fight went. Maidana will constantly come forward and try to land something clean and Mayweather will just back pedal and counter with his right and hug all night so Maidana can't work on the inside.

Against Broner..he clearly outclassed Broner..but Broner ain't Floyd..Floyd Is a lot faster and more skilled..Floyd isn't going to walk into Marcos' power..instead he will tire him while utilizing superior jabs and crosses and an occasional power shot..Floyd wins by UD no doubt
Well considering that Floyd couldn't break a matchstick Maidana will be able to last until the 10th round. He will quit then after gassing out.
Easy win for Floyd. Maidana will come out swinging, but he will just get gassed and Mayweather will take him apart at about round 4 or 5, all three judges in favour of Money.
I expect this to look a bit more like Floyd-Cotto that any destruction. Like halfway between Floyd vs Guerrero and Floyd vs Cotto.
I hate posting in these questions as we're all missing the point completely. Fights like these are not needed when you consider the talent at welterweight and this network rivalry is stopping all these duckers getting their asses whooped! I expect him to use his head movement and power to trouble Floyd. This will definitely be a tough fight for Floyd. I think this will be tougher than Canelo, and I think this is going to end up similar to the first rounds of Mayweather-Cotto, where Cotto uses his aggression to his advantage but it wears off over time.
Mayweather will definitely be in for a ROUGH night, no matter what anyone says. I expect a 116-112 or 117-111 decision no more than that with Mayweather moving around the ring A LOT.
First 6 rounds Maidana will completely chase Mayweather and scare the living **** out of him. Then he'll start to gas out and Mayweather controls from there
