I've trained dozens of girls/women. They're tough as nails and willing to learn without the ego. There was a huge influx for awhile now it's kinda died down a bit, but I say if you carry the log, then you can be a Lumberjack. Women have every right to fight. There have been some pretty impressive female fighters, Lucia Rijker, Leticia Ribinson, Maricella Rodriguez, Julie Browne and countless others. If you want to fight,by all means FIGHT. I got the same opinion as Muhammad Ali. Women boxing is not my thing, but it's their life and if they want to fight, then they can fight. I don't believe women are made to fight though, their breasts are not meant to be punched and their strength is not the same as a man nor is their coordination. I'm not tryna be a douche because I think you're a female since your name is "Madison", but you asked for my opinion and that's my opinion. I think a lot of Men who really want to box hold the same view and it's people who really don't box that think it's cool. A lot of men, myself included, just feel like it's a man's sport whereas people who aren't in the pool see it as equality and cool because they get to see a girl sweat and other perverted stuff. You asked and I answered, don't feel discouraged or anything because of what I said if you plan to box though. Don't let mine nor any other man's opinion stop you from boxing if that's really what you want.
I think women's boxing is good for the sport as it brings positive attention to the sport. Also, it's good to involve women as it counterrack the image as a macho-bound sport only for thugs and meatheads.
