Was Mike Tyson's opponents hand picked?

I read somewhere that after his jail release, most of his opponents are hand picked and set up to lose to Tyson. How true is that?

Please be detailed in your explanation. Thank you

doubt it

most heavy weights are useless now and as far back as when tyson was at his peak its a shame

Most of Tyson's post-prison opponents were hand picked. That is why George Foreman was avoided and he never fought Michael Moorer or Hasim Rahman or Oliver McCall, who was on the downslide by the time Tyson exited prison.

.

I watched a live sparring match between Tyson and McCall and it was quite scary. It was more intense than some heavyweight fights I've seen. McCall had no fear of Tyson at all.

.

When Tyson left prison, he re-signed with Don King and had King's band of thugs as his "handlers". You'd be amazed at the "positions" some of them held on Tyson's payroll... The plan was to take the easiest fights for the most money. At the time, Tyson could have fought Fred Flintstone and people would pay to see it.

.

I don't think Tyson feared any of the fighters I mentioned above -execpt George Foreman- but Foreman was all but done by the time Tyson left prison. He actually became champion during Tyson's incarceration but he became inactive soon after with the lack of marquee opponents.

.

Team Tyson avoided Foreman like the plague. Some think it's crazy but Old Foreman was more dangerous -For Tyson-- than Young Foreman would have been because he retained his power but added poise, pace and endurance...

I think Tyson would have beaten Moorer, Rahman, Mercer and the host of other top contenders he missed. I just don't think King wanted to take the risk with the ones who were not already under his banner. Tyson fought Don King fighters because it allowed King to take the most money from the opponent..........and from Tyson.

.

It was more about money than anything else............................except with Foreman. I worked closely with a lot of people involved and I still believe that NO one on Team Tyson, including Mike himself, wanted anything to do with Big George.

Of course, the promoters make the matches and choose the opponents. but they weren't set up to lose. They were just too scared of Mike that they'd just lay down on the canvass, like Bruno and Seldon.

of course not. he thought the likes of evander holyfield and lennox lewis... 2 world class boxers. after tyson was released from prison though, i don't think he was the same fighter. that 4 or so year break didn't benefit him at all

No...but your so called biological father, out of all the men in your city, was hand picked by your mother.
