I believe Holyfield had it coming when Tyson bit his ear Holyfield was one of the dirtiest fighter out their throwing low blows and headbutts every chance he got. Holyfield headbutted Tyson twice before Tyson reacted. Tyson went to extremes and bit a piece of Holyfield's ear off. Just some interesting info on Holyfield.
1. Billy Colins Jr. vs. Louis Resto- Louis Resto went in the ring with plaster in his gloves and little padding. He would then beat the undefeated Colins Jr. half to death in the ring. After that fight Colins Jr. would never box again and would later become a heavy drinker and crash his car into a tree killing him self.
2. "The Bite Fight" Tyson vs. Holyfield II
3. 9/11 benefit fight James Butler vs. Richard Grant ( Butler hit grant after he lost by UD, Grant went in for a huge and Butler bare fist threw a haymaker which hurt Grant badly he needed stitches and surgery.
4. "The Torn Glove" Ali vs. Cooper I
5. Andrew Golota vs. Riddick Bowe "The Low Blow Fight"- Golota was beating the former champ Riddick Bowe but into the 7th Golota began throwing a large amount of low blows which got him disqualified and ended with him and his corner being attacked by Bowe's corner and the stadium turning into a riot.
6. Mayweathers vs. Ortiz (Billy goat headbutt from Ortiz and the cheap shot sucker punch from Mayweather).
7. Holyfield vs. Dokes (Headbutt and Low blow)
These are the best I could think of, hope it helps and I hope, I gave you a few you may not have heard of.
Well 'the bite fight' is obviously the most famous, but I'd have to go with Andrew Golota repeatedly (and unnecessarily) walloping Riddick Bowe in the baby-makers. He was winning, in both fights, and STILL couldn't stop himself.
1. Evander Holyfield headbutted almost every of his opponents, yet never once got points deducted or disqualified till this day.
2. Mike Tyson biting Evander Holyfield's on both ears and getting disqualified.
3. Floyd Mayweather sucker punched Victor Ortiz to get a cheap 4 round KO victory
4. Lennox Lewis getting robbed of Undisputed World Title while he clearly had it won in his first fight against Holyfield in 1999.
5. Meldrick Taylor was screwed out of victory with only 2 seconds left in the fight by Richard Steele.
6. Pernell Whitaker getting robbed over and over by the corrupt boxing judges.
I remember the most Kabary Salem headbutting Randie Carver to death
number 1 has to be Tyson's ear moment, most of Ernie Terrell's matches. Muhammad Ali's glove, there's been lots of low blows especially in current times but one that comes to mind is that Max Schmelling won his title because his opponent low blowed him.
What are the most dirty and most remembered fouls in boxing history?
