I would have liked to have seen this fight and how Canelo would have matched up. People forget Clottey defeated Cotto, but the fight was given to Cotto because it took place in New York. No way Clottey was getting a decision. Also I wanted for Canelo to keep active and not have a 10 month inactivty Gap going into May next year.

I also agree with Neymar. Canelo needs a new staff of coaches big time. Especially now that he's still young. I think he's as good as he's going to get under Chepo Reynoso.

Sometimes it's not so much Canelo the fighter I worry about in the ring it's his team. Canelo could have defeated Mayweather despite what people think had the gave him the right instructions.

0% ankle injury, 100% politics. Cotto pulled out his fight too. They don't want to risk taking an L or even putting on a $h!tty performance against lesser hyped opponents when they have a mega fight lined up for next year. That being said, I would have favored Canelo anyway. This isn't the 2007 Clottey, I don't care how good he looked against Bumdine

He didn't duck him. Also, Clottey is no joke and it would have been a good fight assuming Clottey fights instead of turtle shelling. Still, an injury is no joke and I rather Canelo rest up. He has many months ahead of him for it. I just wish he had better staff including coaches

Really sucks. I wanted to go see the fight here in Houston, was planning on getting ringside tickets. Big bummer.

No problem, now he can rest up and be 100% (assuming he don't re-injure himself) for his big fight with Cotto next year.
