As if it WILL happen or not, I'm optimistic. Both fighters are w/ Al Haymon. Matthysse most definitely wants the fight, GB wants the fight, the fans want the fight.
Garcia has always maintained he'll fight the best opponents out there, no matter who. If he wants to save face, he'll have to fight Matthysse, otherwise it will be the most blatant and obvious duck in a long time.

It's not that Garcia is scared, its because of the Mayweather-Canelo fight along with the Bradley-Marquez fight which is in October.
If you have a fight that will CLEARLY overshadow yours, wouldn't you take the time to actually set a date so that it wouldn't get overshadowed by the other fights?

For a September or October fight, it really should have been signed by now, or at least be in the negotiation stages. Still, there aren't any reports about it except for Mattyse saying they submitted an offer and accepted all the terms, to which the Garcia camp had no response.
I guess it's no surprise, what we all suspected has come true. Garcia is probably trying to sign a fight with Mosley or Josesito Lopez instead.
