I prefer the fight to happen next year when Canelo would have been more seasoned and prepared to do battle with Floyd. He should signs of that in his win over the difficult stylist Trout who fights somewhat like Floyd.
But I see Floyd's experience and savvy prevailing over Canelo this September.
For Canelo the catch-weight is nothing.
He can make the catch-weight tomorrow if he starts training today.
The real problem is Mayweathers catch-weight. Going from 147 to 152 is harder then it seems, especially just when Mayweather got adjusted to the Welterweight limit. In his first month of training for the Guerrero fight, he was 147 already. So he's going to feel like a school kid getting up for school in the morning for the first time, very unusual and very uncomfortable. It is going to affect his performance because he has only fought at 154 once and it didn't go so well.
As for Canelo's power, Mayweather has nothing to be scared of. Mayweather faced a bunch of guys stronger than Canelo such as Phillip Ndou, Gatti, which he both dominated
Let's be honest, Pacquiao would have probably wanted this fight at 145 catch-weight...
152 sounds very reasonable. Even I can lose 2 extra pounds in 4 months and I am pretty bad when it comes to weight. Canelo should feel great, he gets the fight he's pursued for a long time and the only price is just losing 2 extra pounds.
If anything, the extra weight loss will make Canelo that much more dangerous, he has nothing to worry about except Mayweathers speed.
No he can make it with ease. As for mayweather he had issues with Miguel Cotto. And Ramim is wrong he's fought at 154 twice first De la hoya then Cotto. But I got Canelo winning by UD or SP
He says hes not worried.
And usually catch-weight only effects older fighters. But hes only 22.
He can go to 152 TOMORROW and start training for the september fight.
Its definetly a *********. move on mayweathers part cuz hes clearly scared of canelo's power
But i think it wont matter much
