I have seen fighters who seem to have all the skill in the world but when they fight a good fighter they look terrible and get whopped.
Andre Ward won his first real title in 2009 and has only had 5 title defenses of that paper title.
Floyd Mayweather, the p4p king, has had a recognized title since 1998 & he has had 22 title fights.
It's a travesty that Ring Magazine ranks Ward above Wladimir Klitshko who has whopped his competition more convincingly than Ward. Plus Wladimir has had a major title since 1998 & he has had 36 title fights
Ward is a great boxer but fact is, he has been dominant in only one weight class. His last fight was against the Light Heavyweight Champion at Super Middleweight. He beat Froch, who in my opinion isn't that great of a fighter, he is just exciting to watch.
Also, Mayweather has gone up 5 weight classes. He cleaned up Super Featherweight and moved up. He is nearly 37 years old and still dominating the sport.
Pound for Pound, Mayweather is a much better boxer and in terms of skill is also a much better fighter. He has had much more experience than Ward has and is still on top of his game even though he is 37 years old and a little past his prime.
Ward has been inactive for almost a year now and hence he is not eligible for the top post. Theoretically, I think Mayweather is the better boxer at 147 lbs.and 168 lbs. assuming they are in the same division. However, in the same vein I think Ward is the better fighter of the two.
Ward is #2. There is much more talent in the lower weight classes, and Floyd is just that good that he can take a strong good young fighter like Canelo and make him look like an amateur. Ward is the truth but, Floyd is the best p4p boxer in the world right now.
Andre Ward good fighter but.not even close to Floyd as it applies to skill level on a scale of ten ward is a seven Floyd is a fifteen as ward is the dominant force in his class Floyd is the dominant force in two classes as for Pac man they both have aged so that excuse about in your prime don't hold water Floyd then and now or even later will destroy this dude and that's real talk

idk id still say mayweather even tho i think ward would beat him in a catch weight fight and ward will fihjt lightheavyweights and mayweather ducks his own weight class. i still think p4p mayweather is the current best not best of all time but currently at boxing hes the best
I think that Andre Ward should be no 1 in the P4P rankings because he has the skill, and he takes the hardest fights possible, he absolutely schooled Carl Froch and Mikkel Kessler probably the 2nd and 3rd best fighters in the division. On the other hand Mayweather schooled Canelo, but he is always reluctant to take the hardest fight possible, he's been ducking Manny Pac for years. But anyways what do you guys think, I know Ward will be no 1 in a couple of years but I think he deserves it now. Even a week or so ago on Yahoo there was an article about Ward is underrated and is as good as Mayweather if not better.
