Salinas will virtually be entering the lion's lair in fighting Quigg right in the the Briton's territory in London tomorrow. It will be a big leap in the level of opposition for the 28 year old former Cuban amateur and Olympic standout veteran. Though he is undefeated in 20 pro fights with 13 Ko/TKO, Salinas has not fought and beaten any prominent or highly ranked foe to merit a world title crack at 122 lbs. He has beaten an assortment of newbies and journeymen although his more than 300 amateur fights may have prepared him adequately for the pros as most of his fellow Cuban expat boxers like Yuri Gamboa and Guillermo Rigondeux have shown.
But I still think Quigg would be a quantum leap for him in his young pro career and given the also unbeaten Briton's credentials, Salinas would be a decided underdog in this one.
I think Salinas would do well to protect and defend himself against the British KO artist to finish the fight on his feet and his senses intact. But I think he loses this one widely on points.
I think Scott Quigg will win this one, i don't now too much about Yoandris Salinas to be honest, i do know he has signed to Golden Boy so he can't be a mug and he has a really good amatuer background. What i've been impressed about with Quigg's in his last few fight is his power, and i think if he lands the right punch at the right time (which he is capable of doing) i can't see too many fighters taking it, but this is boxing and anything can happen.
Salinas will beat Quigg but will not get the decision.
Either way its gonna be a very entertaining fight, neither clinch or run. Salinas is a sharpshooter, expect Quigg to be tagged all night with clean pop shots. I tell U if Quigg pulls this one without a robbery then I'll admit I was gladly wrong and he is the goods.
Im not confident that Salinas is the better fighter, either way it will be very entertaining.
Scott Quigg I think will win this on points. Salinas isnt that good a fighter.
