Rocky 4 - death of Apollo but not Rocky?

They are movies, not real.

Sylvester wrote the movies and he was the star, he was not going to kill himself in the movies.

Don't over think movies they are not real life, and even the movies that are based on real events and people are not the truth, Hollywood always has to change things.

1. Apollo was already retired and is older than Rocky. Apollo also asked Rocky to not throw in the towel which is why Apollo ultimately died. So it was pretty much young man in prime + steroids vs retired champion.

2. Rocky had time to train and saw Drago's style

3. Rocky has an iron chin and can tank punches all day lol

1. Apollo faced him first and was coming off retirement. Obviously he did not have any idea of Drago's strength and capabilities ( read: he grossly under-estimated him with fatal consequences ). When Apollo died as an aftermath, Rocky was able to get a full gauge of the Russian's power and capabilities and therefore was able to prepare himself physically and plan for counter measures.

2. Rocky survived Drago but seemed to pay the price in Rocky V which was similar to Ali surviving the likes of Foreman, Lyle and Shavers and even winning but already showing signs of the Parkinson's even before his fights with Norton, Spinks, Holmes and Berbick and being declared a full case a few years after his final retirement.

The Rocky series in my impression were a hodge podge of actual characters, events and circumstances in boxing in America set against the backdrop of the USA-USSR Cold War and the remaining vestiges of white supremacism.

Because rocky took roids

Apollo is actually somewhere in the caribbean enjoying his 'russian' retirement package.

Racism, pure and simple. Ivan Drago was brought in to appease the white fans who complained about Rock getting KOd by Mr T

in a prime vs prime matchup, Creed would dominate the lumbering giant with ease, and knock him out late.....remeber, Creed was coming out of retirement to fight in an "exhibition" match. Drago pulled a Ketchel and Creed was killed for it

precisely why the 4th installment is widely regarded as the worst of the series

Lol Rocky's chin is made of stainless steel

I read some great answers for why and how Ivan Drago was able to kill Apollo Creed. I just have two questions:

1. Why was Drago able to kill Apollo, but not Rocky?

2. Or, was this kind of explained in Rocky V when Rocky began suffering from some serious brain trauma?
