I would have been a 100 per cent sure he would win only for I seen Rigo get rocked a couple of times by Marroquin in his last fight and it stuck a couple of question marks into my head. Still tho if Rigo lands the good shots first I think he can KO Donaire.
Rigo is wearing a badge on his shorts in support of womens cancer for Co Cork Ireland for the fight for free,he turned down other sponsors who wanted to place a badge and they would have payed him for it. He also donated his entire purse to the people of Haiti in 2010 after the country was destroyed by an earthquake. He seems like a good guy to me,I hope he wins it.
I've already bet $200 to win $500 on my boy Rigo (got him at +250 when it opened, now he's down to +180).
The odds for this fight are f*cking RIDICULOUS. It's crazy, and I'm thinking about some other bets once the props on my book come out.
This is a toss up fight IMO, and I just slightly favor Donaire. So the fact that I got Rigo as a 2.5-1 dog is pretty absurd. lol I'm not complaining tho.....
The more I think about this fight, the more I like Rigo too. Look at Donaire's most recent opposition, the Nishioka win was very good, but besides that the opposition is modest at best.
WV2 just got dropped and lost to some can last weekend, Arce is old and a bum compared to both Rigo/Donaire, Narvaez is a midget and just showed up to not get KO'ed. Mathebula is awkward and effective, but he's not any better than any of the other guys I just mentioned.
Rigo is a lot more versatile and skilled than all of those guys combined. Like I said, I still favor Donaire a bit, but this fight is 50/50 on paper, no matter how it plays out in the ring.
I'm pumped for it! Their staredown was intense too, don't know if anyone else saw it.
The dudes on stage were telling them to face the cameras and they just kept staring at eachother, for like five minutes. The sh*t was awesome.
EDIT: Damn, now Rigo is back up to +210. The odds for this are jumping around non-stop, that's a good way to tell how good a fight is.
I just checked my source and Rigo was a 2 to 1 dog. I won't be betting this because I think he's in over his head, BUT I wouldn't mind seeing him win also. Betting with my heart has cost me plenty over the years.
I already have a bet of 10K in Philippine currency for Donaire, Eddie F and I'm still looking for more Rigo bettors.
