He fought in what's probably the fight of the year and won, and he beat Juan Marquez, a fight in which Bradley was a major underdog. Bradley looks like he's becoming what many thought he would become(despite the Pacquiao decision that I think was incorrect).
2) Danny Garcia
I think he deserves a nod over Mayweather because Garcia beat Mattysse, whom I think is a more well rounded fighter than Alvarez. Mayweather no doubt makes the biggest money fights, but it's been a few years since he's fought a true lb for lb rated fighter (Mosley 2010). Alvarez is not on anyone's top 10 lb for lb list.
GGG has beaten all the foes he's faced this year but none of them is top five contender, with just one being a failed title challenger, when he fought them. That eliminates him from the race.
Mickey Garcia defeated two former greats in Salido and Lopez and has a shot of beating a very pedestrian titlist in Martinez. He has a slim chance.
Danny Garcia beats Judah and Matthysee but somewhat struggled against both. He has a slim chance.
Rigo schooled Donaire, 2012 consensus Fighter of the Year and has a shot of also doing the same versus Joseph Agbeko but Kingkong is an unproven factor at 122
Hopkins beating Cloud and Murat? No big deal.
Kovalev beating Cleverly? Fans don't even know these people.
No need to look far and wrack our brains about this matter. It boils down to Floyd and Tim Bradley and I am favoring Floyd over Tim. Floyd beats a top 5 welter in Robert Guerrero and consensus top junior middleweight Canelo Alvarez in between serving a jail term, both in unification fights.
My vote goes First place: Mayweather who was 2-0 and beat his 147 mandatory and then beat the undefeated unified champ at 154 with ease. Second place: Rigondeaux for beating a top 10 pound for pound fighter in a clinic, just wasnt busy enough.
Third place: Mikey Garcia. Fourth: Danny Garcia (my 2012 Fighter of the Year).
For me it's Guillerbo Rigondeaux. The way he took apart the 2012 fighter of the year with such precision and ease was a boxing masterpiece. I know most people found it to be a boring fight but I could watch it over and over without ever getting tired of it.
Floyd will probably take it though, he's a higher profile boxer and so are Guerrero and Alvarez. Both guys are highly rated fighters made to look like sparring partners by the great Floyd Mayweather.
GGG all the way he didnt just beat the men he fought , not to mention he fought several times this year already but he destroyed his opponents in brutal fashion. Good list u have there cept i would remove klitch all together sick of him and hes boring for a heavy weight.
Rigo makes a good candidate as well since he dominated one of the best p4p out there but it wasnt a fan friendly fight.
1- GGG
2- Garcia
3- bradely/floyd tie
4-rigo
Guillermo Rigondeaux is fighter of the year for me, Schooled a top 10 p4per and future HOFer and is now gonna face one of the top 10 bantamweights.
In asking this question you mean action fighter of the year not best fighter of the year well it would have to be Bradley because he beat two of the top ten p4p fighters in the world says it all
GGG
