Muhammed Ali vs Mike Tyson?

Prime Ali

Ali woiuld last longer knock him out in the 14th or 15th round

Tyson was more power and KO his oppents in the early rounds

Ali took beatings from many fighters let them wear out then KO them in the later rounds

Ali was too hard to hit and had too good of a chin to make a Tyson knockout likely. Surviving the first 10 rounds shouldn't be a problem, given that Tyson rarely got knockouts past the 6th round. If lesser fighter than Ali could take Tyson the distance, Ali could as well. Ali's quicker hands, reflexes, superior footwork, higher work rate, superior stamina, and FAR superior defense would earn him a decision.

Tyson was never on Ali's level as a fighter. Even Tyson's own trainer didn't think he would beat Ali.

Mike Tyson on any given day could not defeat Muhammad Ali. The greatest Ali, of 1966, or 1967 would have either won an extremely lopsided 15 round decision to match Tyson's lopsided face after the bout, or stop him in 11 rounds, Tyson would have had a nervous breakdown due to his fragile mental status. Ali stopped the fearsome Sonny Liston, in 7 rounds on Feb 25, 1964. A year later on May 25,1965, he stopped Liston, in round 1. Later that year, he stopped ex-champion Floyd Patterson in 12. In 1966, he defeated George Chuvalo, on points in 15, Henry Cooper, TKO 6, Brian London,TKO 3, European Heavyweight Champion Karl Mildenberger, TKO 12, and Cleveland Big Cat Williams, TKO 3. In 1967, he defeated WBA Heavyweight Champion Ernie Terrell, unanimous decision, 15 rounds and knocked out Zora Folley, Ko 7. He was then stripped of his boxing license and title for refusing induction into the U. S Army, during the Vietnam war.He was inactive for 3 and a half years. Ali was super fast and had cat like reflexes. He could glide around the ring for 15 rounds, if he had to, without tiring and could fire rapid combinations that could lacerate a face. Tyson's opposition was hardly the type that will ever be hall of fame material, Trevor Berbick, old Larry Holmes, Jose Ribalta,, Bonecrusher Smith, Tony Tucker, and James Tillis. True Tyson could hit, but only if you stand still with him, and he could easily be made a fool of in the ring, just ask James Buster Douglas, who knocked out a prime Tyson in 10 rounds. Ali could get into a fighters head and mess with him, if Tyson could not handle his mother in law, imagine what Ali would do to him.Tyson was made to look clumsy against Douglas, Ali is ten times faster and more accurate, plus he had an iron chin. Tyson was just a flash in the pan. Ali was never exiled from boxing for raping a woman, Mike was all braun and no brains. Also Ali had Angelo Dundee always in his corner, not like Tyson who had Manny Moe, and Jack. Tyson may have had some quickness, but he only had one gear, forward, but he lacked stamina to last the distance if he had to. Power is not the only thing, sometimes finesse overcomes strength and Ali did not ever threaten to eat anyone's children, like Tyson, which sounds like cannibalism which is illegal. You cannot compare Frazier to Tyson because Joe did not fight a prime Ali, who would have won very easily

Both were brilliant fighters but Prime Ali was so fast and his reactions were so quick he evaded almost all punches and knocked out Sonny Liston who was also very powerful, Henry Cooper managed to floor a Prime Ali with such a fast hook which Tyson had the speed and power to replicate but I would still give the edge to Ali but either way that fight would be amazing and would probably be another great spectacle like the thrilla in manilla

Ali had an indestructible chin.

Frazier literally broke his jaw with a perfect frazier left hook, and Ali got up before the count of 6.

Tyson wouldn't last more than a few rounds.

people who don't know anything about boxing choose tyson.

wow! he koe'd fighters! he koe'd nobodys.

it's like a decent fighter would ko random bums on the street.

Tyson in his prime was a good fighter, and beat some mediocre fighters by KO.

people use the "he was in prison" excuse to say he was out of his prime.

when he got out of prison, there were just much better fighters.

he didn't lose to holyfield or lewis because he wasn't in his prime or in his prison, he lost because he wasn't good enough to win.

a prime tyson wouldn't beat lennox lewis, or holyfield for that matter.

he would have absolutely no chance whatsoever against george foreman,

who was much stronger than Tyson, and had much better KO power.

and tyson had a terrible chin.... was ko'd by some good punchers, and some crappy ones at that.

I don't bet on Ali winning by points, because tyson would be barely moving by the 6th round without any energy left, and Ali would be fresh like he just woke up, and he would KO tyson.

I believe that a prime Tyson would beat any man who has ever been born so far and stepped into a boxing ring and people say that Ali would just do the same to Tyson as he did to foreman but I think that Tyson in his prime was twice the fighter foreman was in his day and was a lot faster, more accurate and more powerful so I gotta say Tyson

Ali was superior to Tyson in every comparable respect, given that Ali KOed three of history's heaviest punchers (Liston, Foreman and Frazier), odds are Ali would have KOed Tyson faster than Holyfield did.

Ali on his worst day still knocks out Tyson on his best day.

physically prime ali maybe loses to tyson.

of course tyson's coach must be alive.

but 3-5 years after frazier defeat muhammad ali won match.

even tko would be easy.

note: ali not stronger than tyson of course but chin and stamina absolutely better.

Okay here's my analysis for a PRIME Tyson vs PRIME Ali

Ali fans quickly make the following conclusions:

-Ali is faster than Tyson, he would beat Tyson to the punch: False Tyson was faster in all practical ways, hand speed, head movement, if you don't believe me look at his training clips and compare them to Ali's

-Tyson would be intimidated and demoralized by Ali: Possibly, but not likely, with Rooney in his corner a prime Tyson is reserved and is imbued with confidence by his training camp

-Ali would take the fight to the later rounds, tiring Tyson: A prime Tyson only lacks one thing and that's experience, in his prime Tyson can keep most of his ability throughout the full fight, view both Ruddock fights if you don't believe me

In- fight Analysis:

Round 1-

Tyson would take the offense, taking Ali off-guard. Tyson repeatedly traps Ali in corners until the round is over.

Round 2- Ali is unable to establish a slow and steady pace, Tyson's ferocity lands him frequent damaging and fast combinations. Ali is able to land quick, but ineffective combinations.Ali develops a cut and minor swelling

Round 3- Ali realizes his current style is ineffective to Tyson's style and begins to noticably increase his aggresion. Ali increases the amount of combinations he throws, but Tyson's head movement counteracts this, removing the critical effects of Ali's combinations.

Round 4-Ali increases his defense and uses his footwork to his advantage, Ali relies more on the ropes and clinches to Tyson more, momentum decreases.

Round 5- After a dry fourth round, Tyson increases his punch output and scores a knockdown.

Round 6- With Ali obviously unorganized, Tyson sees his opportunity and takes it, he unleashes a strong, quick, and aggresive combination in the corner, Ali's guard falls, his knees buckle, and the Referee stops the fight.

As a side note, many will say that Mike Tyson lost to Douglas in his prime. False, Tyson was on a noticable decline after the Spinks fight when he dumped Rooney. Many will say "Just because you don't have your best trainer, and superior mind set and technique doesent mean you're not in you're prime," Well then what is your prime? It's when your the best you've ever been, and for Tyson it was '88 before...Was it short? Yes. Was it incredible? Watch the tapes.

Who do you think would win? A prime Ali or an 80's Tyson? I think it could be close but I'd actually give the edge to Tyson. They were both very quick but Ali just never really looked like a proper heavyweight in my opinion. Whereas Tyson was a naturally big guy and he was also powerful and very fast. He had incredible genetics, these days you'd never see a 5'10 heavyweight as lean as him. I doubt we ever will tbh. The only way I could see Ali winning would be if he survived the first 10 rounds and tired Tyson out and won on points.

I think Ali but everything can happen in a fight..Who knows

ALI hands down. He was ridiculously quick and his hits were so compact.

ali took beatings? are you kidding me?in his prime he barely got hit

Ali... Have a great day all...
