Exactly, and on top of all that Rocky Martinez looked damn good last night. He landed some good shots, but Mikey proved to the world last night that he's on the elite level. He knocked out one of the toughest guys in boxing with an incredible body shot. It's hard to see anyone beating Mikey in the future. He's got all of the tools to be the best in the world someday.

We saw him miss with a shoulder roll right hand, to the credit to Martinez for adjusting, then come with a huge left hook. He and Mayweather are the two most complete fighters in the world.

As for the Juanma win, Mikey was drained. He said before the fight he's seeing blurry, dizzy, just walking around. He knocked Juanma out in 4 rounds.

Either Mikey or Bradley gets FOTY. There's no way Mayweather gets it in my book. Canelo I give him full credit for, but Guerrero is a useless win.

I agree Mikey Garcia deserves fighter of the year. All three of his fights have came against champions (Orlando Salido & Rocky Martinez) & a former champion Juan Manuel Lopez. All solid & proven opponents.

I hope the guys who choose Fighter of the year don't buy into hype & give Golovkin the award because that award belongs to Mikey Garcia.

Floyd still nails it with his rare two fights assignment this year, both of which he won by dominating fashion against elite competitions at welterweight ( Robert Guerrero) and junior middleweights ( Saul Alvarez) who were previously undefeated like himself or on a winning roll. Especially the last fight versus Canelo broke some records and shook the rankings at 154 lbs. Floyd managed to do this even having to serve a jail term.

Mickey Garcia's wins over over old-hand Orlando Salido, Salido's two-time KO victim /twice-exposed Juan Ma Manuel Lopez and the fragile junior lightweight titlist Rocky Martinez while dominating, hardly stirred the hornet's nest so to speak.

I think those are all solid wins, and Mikey's had a breakout year, but nothing jumps off the page to me.

Garcia was highly expected to win them all, that's my issue. I think the obvious choice for fighter of the year is Floyd, but let's take him out of the equation.

Adonis Stevenson is a top contender. He knocked out the lineal champ at 175lb in the first round, avenged his only defeat, dominated a solid guy like Cloud, and will most likely destroy another solid fighter in Tony Bellew.

Then there's Danny Garcia. He beat Zab Judah in a tough fight, a good win (but also nothing great). He then proceeded to clearly beat and upset Matthysse, who is a f*cking monster and a guy I thought would destroy Swift.

So all in all I think Mikey is an honorable mention type guy, but not more deserving than the people I mentioned as FOTY.

After wiping the floor with Salido who was the number 1 in the division at the time. Then destroying Juan Manuel Lopez, then stepping up a division and destroying Roman Martinez, to become a two weight world champion, surely Garcia must be fighter of the year.
