Well, both had a similar style, with Tyson having a slight advantage in power and a big edge in speed. But on the other hand Frazier had more heart and stronger will which could make the difference as well. He was a warrior in any way while Tyson was very sensitive, lost the belief in himself sometimes and was too easy to be taken out of his game plan. This is something Frazier could exploit. I think it is very hard to say but young Tyson would probably take the win by knockout in my mind.

This fight would be all wrong for Frazier. Tyson would be slightly shorter, he was more explosive and twice as fast as Joe Frazier. Tyson had a rock of a chin and could take whatever Joe hit him with. If Frazier could take him deep he may wear him down but I dont think it goes that long. Frazier only had one way to fight and that was to wade in, take some shots and unload inside. Tyson could box if he wanted to and when Joe did close the distance he would be inside with another inside fighter who is faster, more accurate and has more combos to unleash, Tyson would out land Frazier 3 to 1 and Frazier would be down.
I do not believe this fight goes long simply because Frazier is not going to run or move or tie Tyson up, hes going into Tyson at the opening bell and Tyson is going to him, the first inside exchange should be all she wrote.
As great a heavyweight as Frazier was I dont think this fight goes past the first round, 3 minutes is a long time when your inside toe to toe.

IMO, frazier at 203 and Tyson at 218 at the sam height and same basic styles go toe to toe, with hooks, uppercuts and rights hands in close. Frazier was notorious as a slow starter (Oscar Bonevena and of course George Foreman ) knocked him down early until he got his song going inside and the rhythm and beat keeping him on track. Tyson by 2 round TKO stoppage.
this a little hard to call george foreman stopped frazier in 2 rounds and tyson has power but not on george foremans level but hes faster and throws more punches so its either tyson k.o early or frazier k.o late if he can survive the early assault he will grind tyson down and knock him out late tyson was faster and a bit stronger and has a slightly better punch both guys can take a punch and tyson is also better defensively and throws better combinations so tyson k.o in the early rounds or frazier by knockout late in the fight
Joe Frazier was superior to Mike Tyson in every comparable category, Mike wouldn't have lasted past the first round, Joe would have KOed Tyson faster than the Mike KOing the tomato cans that built his rep. Frazier would have cleaned Mike's clock faster than Holyfield did.
