The fight is going to be at a catch weight of 152 according to ESPN.
The only fighters that people think Mayweather is scared of are Bob Arums' fighters ,but it's more about Bob Arums' pride not wanting to make a smaller profit than his former fighter.
If you look back at my comments just prior to Guerrero and right after, I said that Canelo would be next and that now was actually the best time for Floyd to fight him. Canelo is always dangerous, but even with his 40+ fights, he is not quite ready for Mayweather. It will be a good fight and He has a shot at winning because of his size, but that is about all. His defense is better, but he lacks movement and the aggression to take the fight to Mayweather. Judging from the Trout fight, Canelo was content to load up on power shots and count on Trout's aggression to bring him within range. I think he did enough to win against Trout, but beating Austin is something way different than beating an elusive and quick Mayweather. I don't think that Floyd ducks opponents as much as he picks them carefully, which many fighters do. I do think that Canelo is probably the best opponent out there for Floyd at this point.
I used to be a Floyd Mayweather hater.
I hated his demeanor and everything about him and felt that he was so cocky but ducked by all means necessary. I also felt he was the real chicken in the whole Pacman vs. Money fight but after reading Pacman is the real coward.
However, after that last fight with Robert Guerrero and watching his ShowTime special I decided I no longer hate him and in fact I love him.
I may be broke but I feel like a millionaire and by that criteria I am eligible for "The Money Team" sign me up for it! Cause Floyd "Money" Mayweather has this in the bag and haters will stop hating like how I have stopped hating weeks ago.
You beat me to the punch! I was just about to post the breaking news, lol! Good job though dude! This is great for boxing! It's a great fight with two unbeaten fighters! Props to Floyd for taking this fight when no one thought he would, and props to Canelo for stepping up and showing that he's ready despite the fact that a lot of people are saying he's not. Canelo WANTED this fight, Floyd WANTED this fight, and now it's a DONE DEAL!
All the naysayers will finally STFU on September 14th....who am I kidding? They're still going to talk sh!t after this match. Nevertheless, I have not looked forward to a Mayweather match this much since Hatton back in '07. This is fantastic news!
I can't believe I fell for this hahaha
It will be at a maximum weight of 152 bro. This will be a clinic. All hail "Pretty/ Money" Floyd! LOL
Huge fight, first I heard of it. They can't claim Floyd is taking safe fights and ducking competition any more.
I have Canelo pulling the upset, like he did with the great Trout fish.
I seen both agreed to fight at 152 and its a unification bout. But yes it's on.
That's what I'm talking about. I'm not sure about the details yet, other than it's on Sept. 14th at MGM and is on PPV (obviously).
I'm interested in seeing if it's a catchweight or not.
Either way, great fight and anyone talking sh*t that Floyd would duck Canelo, blah blah blah, now has the right to SUCK IT.

Oh they will still keep talking. If Mayweather wins, he will most likely win, he will be criticized for taking on an opponent who wasn't ready or is too young or whatever.
If this is true then my respect for floyd mayweather jr has increased 100x
"Suck It"....Haters.
