Alvarez can really rough him up because he's got speed, power, chin, size, youth, and PUNCHING POWER.
There are 5 outcomes to a fight:
1) Floyd Mayweather wins a decision <----this is the most likely scenario and I think 72% of the time this will happen.
2) Floyd Mayweather knocks out Canelo <-----I can never see this happening because Floyd isn't a big puncher and hasn't knocked anyone out for a while.....plus Canelo's weight advantage will make Floyd's punches feel like love taps. Only knockout chances is a severe cut or hematoma or injury. 5% chance.
3) Canelo knocks out Floyd <------This is Canelo's likely option. But Floyd has basically never been knocked down....except for a couple glove touch flukes. It's extremely hard to think Canelo will knock him out.....let alone knock him down. But the punching power is there....we will see. I'd give him a 20% chance of knocking Floyd out.
4) Canelo decisions Floyd <------ Very hard to do. Canelo will definitely need the judges on his side and find a way to slow Mayweather down with hard body shots. 1% chance.
5) Draw or No contest: 2%
I want to go on record that Alvarez wins this fight. If I can still get 2 to 1 when Vegas puts out it's line, I'm putting money on Canelo.
Alvarez wins because he has;
Size, strength, speed, defense, better reflexes, youth, more pop in his punches, and Mayweather is starting to lose it. Even in his last fight, he got hit way too much.
I give Mayweather all the kudos in the world for taking this fight and even if he loses, his legacy will be just that much better. Nobody can say Floyd ducked good fighters. He's fighting the best out there. Manny will be down the road and an even better fight because they both will have showed vulnerability.
All of the best fighters in the history have lost. (Marciano is an exception.) It will take nothing away from Floyd.
I really like this fight I think this is good challenge for mayweather since the cotto fight. Mayweather will win by decision but alvarez may land some big punches during.
There are only two outcomes to this one, either Floyd wins a decision or Alvarez KOed Mayweather.
I think that mayweather still has what it takes to be his best.... but alvarez fights up to middleweight if he wants to, he is faster, more of a solid puncher. defense i think still goes to mayweather he is still quick but i think alvarez just has the ability to beat mayweather cause he's gonna have to use more of his speed than power to win this fight cause i still think mayweather has his defense sooo i think its either gonna be a ref stopage or decision alvarez but if he does knock mayweather ou that will be even better but if he doesnt just seeing him loss will be awesome too
I am fully expecting yet another UD victory for Floyd Mayweather Jr. He's too quick and I can see Canelo getting frustrated and giving up after 4-5 rounds of punching air.
And then he'll get his a55 picked off
According to Mayweather himself, even if he wins, Alvarez would still be undefeated since he's fighting him at a catchweight. Remember when he was gearing up to fight Cotto and he called Cotto an undefeated fighter because Cotto lost to a guy who cheated in Margarito and he lost to Pacquiao at a catchweight?
Mayweather's record is 44-0-0
Alvarez's record is 42-0-1
Mayweather is 36
Alvarez is 22
I think Alvarez has a huge advatage because he is 14 years younger than Mayweather.
