It might be a fight with Amir Khan in the UK, If it is the Khan fight instead of having at wembley i would rather see it happen in the London Olympic Stadium instead put that place to use for once.
I hope it's not Hopkins. It just doesn't make a lot of sense to fight a light-heavyweight who, by that time, will be 51 years old.
.
If Mayweather chooses to fight Hopkins, it would just seem like one more reason to avoid Pacquiao. The only other fights that seem even remotely intriguing are Cotto at middleweight, which is reasonable, due to the questions surrounding the Martinez fight.
.
The other reasonable fight would be against Amir Khan. This is a stretch but the fight becomes a bit more interesting for a few reasons.
.
1. Mayweather's age by that time, he will be 39.
2. If this fight takes place, it would be a huge event in the UK
3. Khan's style, despite his losses, will always be a problem for Mayweather, especially at an advanced age. Mayweather is at an age where a fighter's performance and skill level can plummet in one or two fights -even one who is as disciplined as Mayweather.
.
Any other fight pales by comparison in terms of significance. And these possible fights still pale in significance compared to a possible Pacquiao fight.
.
The bottom line is that both camps are at fault to some degree. But Mayweather is still, and has always been, in the driver's seat in terms of making this fight happen. His legacy takes a bigger hit than Pacquiao's if this fight doesn't happen.
He'll be fighting Ali, not Hopkins. Now that's a fkng surprise to the boxing world.
I will not be surprised. Bhop has been mentioning the name of Floyd Mayweather Jr. since last year and he could be fancying a fight with his nearest competitor as best fighter of the current generation. He is hinting at a catch weight fight at around 160 lbs. Seeing how a fight versus Floyd could be his biggest in term of purse and possibly PPV earning share, Bhop cannot be faulted for seeking his biggest pre-retirement pay. For Floyd adding the scalp of what many experts considered as the only ATG calibre fighter of this generation would boost his own chance of being deemed as an ATG also.
I'm on the same as Nightmare and Olukayode.
It's probably Khan in the UK, Floyd has mentioned it before and at least gate wise it would make a shitload of money.
Who knows. It's probably a fight against Matthysse, he will likely ask Matthysse to come up to 147lbs.
But first Mayweather needs to get passed Maidana who will have less respect for him now that he knows Floyd can't hurt him.
Pacquiao the cat is getting old and weak, the cowardly snake is now ready to finally come out and take on the shot cat. B-hop is so old, it won't be no surprise, but maybe it might be.
I think it's against Khan in the UK
Its a lie to sell tickets
Now, I'm not one that actually ever believed this hype. But, a big surprise might mean B-Hop. Hear me out. There is no surprise about Manny Pacquiao.
Your thoughts?
I'm just throwing things out there for you guys to throw back. I don't really believe this, but I just thought about it.
BQ: Should Mayweather fight Cotto at 160? If so, do you think that is Mayweather's surprise to win a title at middleweight?
