This is definitely a fight that is likely to happen as long as Bob Arum doesn't get in the way of negotiations ,but first Tim Bradley has to get past Juan Manuel Marquez October 12th and that won't be an easy fight for either opponent.
Why?
As much as I despise the HBO vs Showtime and Top Rank vs Golden Boy feuds, and wish that boxing was governed by ONE body, I don't see why Floyd would even bother fighting Bradley. I give Bradley SOME credit. He's a hard worker and a decent boxer. However, he's CLEARLY a level or two below Mayweather in EVERY category. PLEASE tell me ONE thing that Bradley can do better than Mayweather.
I just don't see where Bradley deserves a shot at the one who has now risen to the top of the sport. What has he done to deserve a shot? So he's undefeated. His biggest wins are all marred with fouls or controversy. And his own mother can tell you he clearly lost to Pacquiao.
The only thing appealing about this fight is that both are undefeated, if you want to count the Pacquiao fight as a "win" for Bradley. The only other reason for this fight would be that Mayweather has run out of challengers. Other than that, I can't see where Bradley deserves the fight or where Mayweather should waste the time.
It doesn't matter if they are both champions. Belts are promotional tools these days, with all the belts there are now. A fighter can beat someone half his size from a different weight class and become champion rather than fighting the best. Undefeated doesn't mean anything either. Chavez Jr. was undefeated, and the minute he fought an elite opponent he lost. Adrien Broner is undefeated and he was exposed by a past prime Malignaggi. Bradley is undefeated yet he performed terribly against Provodnikov, who isn't really that good. Bradley isn't a draw either.
Bradley is with Top Rank, who don't do business with Mayweather. Bradley himself admitted he would have no idea how to beat Mayweather. If he isn't confident in his ability to get the job done then he doesn't belong in the ring with the Pound for Pound king.
I think this is the most reasonable fight for him. If both men beat their respective opponents, Timothy Bradley beating Juan Manuel Marquez, and Floyd Mayweather beating Saul Alvarez, which are tough opponents for both of them, then they should fight each other.
I actually don't want to see Floyd Mayweather fight anyone else but Bradley. Manny Pacquiao is coming off a huge knockout loss of course to Marquez, so if Mayweather fought him he'd be criticized. Kell Brook is undefeated, but untested so far in my opinion. Mike Alvarado, who did beat Brandon Rios, I still think is untested. Plus that fight was a war, and I'd like to see Alvarado beat another big fighter before Mayweather.
Timothy Bradley is undefeated so far, and if he beats Juan Manuel Marquez, would be coming off two big wins over two of the best fights, Pacquiao and Marquez, although most of us thought he lost to Pacquiao.
Floyd Mayweather against Timothy Bradley sounds good to me.

a mayweather/bradley fight is a good fight indeed, and it aint impossible to make, not at all, unless one really doesnt really wants to fight...
Feather handed Bradley won't phase Mayweather a bit. He also loves throwing several punches, so will more than likely be counter punched all night. Not a fight I'd like to see.
It'd be a boring fight as both fighters would just run and dance around, and it's not good for the sport.
It will never happen, as reasonable as it is. Since leaving Top Rank, Floyd does no business with Arum. Top Rank isn't doing business with Golden Boy. Top Rank works exclusively with HBO. Golden Boy doesnt work with HBO. Floyd is exclusively with Showtime....can't happen.
