Some might say it's simply retaliation for the times that Mayweather insulted Pacquiao. I wonder if Pacquiao initiated the taunt or if it was orchestrated by someone from his camp. IOW, is it retaliation or desperation?

I say the later. Floyd has made many remarks about Pacquiao with no return. I think, in the beginning, this is part of what made Floyd uneasy. He couldn't rattle Pacquiao. Now Pacquiao is acting out of character.

This isn't to say that he's wrong or doesn't have a right to respond to the times that Floyd made remarks about him. However, it's just not like him.

Perhaps, one of Pacquiao's greatest weaknesses is his loyalty to some of those around him. I'm not sure if they return the same loyalty. They do, to some degree, but not as intense as he gives it.

I don't think Pacquiao chose this approach totally on his own. If it sounds like I'm saying that Manny doesn't have a mind of his own or speak for himself, I am saying that, to a degree. Manny has spoken for himself but only when necessary.

It doesn't make him a bad person, now or before he chose to personally label Mayweather a coward. It's just not like him to do so.

If Manny Pacquiao said what you said he said ,that's a good sign that the fight is still a good possibilty but it's too bad Bob Arum and Top Rank is in the way because Floyd Mayweather and Bob Arum have a bad relationship and refuse to bend to the others demands.
Manny Pacquiao's contract with Bob Arum and Top Rank doesn't expire until the end of 2014 ,Manny Pacquiao and Floyd Mayweather will be fighting on Kentucky Derby day next year ,May 2nd ,2015 ,just like what Miguel Cotto did after his contract expired with Top Rank at the end of 2011 to make a fight with Mayweather happen the following May of 2012.

Manny and Floyd were invited in a certain talk show and FMJ, upon learning that Manny will attend the show, declined to attend it to the disgust of the host.
Host: Do you think Floyd Mayweather is afraid of you?
Manny Pacquiao: KIND OF. (Laughs)
Host: Kind of!!!!Finally! Manny calls Floyd a coward! He's a chicken! Did you hear that Floyd? You are a coward!

Manny was down to earth even when he's still on top of the world. I cant understand you guys what PAc had done to deserve such ridicule. MAnny stared death in the eye in the last fight against JMM just for us fight fans to get entertained!
You see how Floyd and these people reacted after Manny called Floyd a coward. That is what Floyd want him to do before right? To call him and now that he did, they have something again that Floyd is right that Manny was desperate. These people can not make up their mind on what they want. Manny act in a civil way and it doesn't work and now he goes out on his civil way, it looks like it doesn't work either. Manny Pacquiao is right in calling Floyd Mayweather Jr. a coward.

He didn't call Mayweather a coward. He just said "At least I run after fights and not away from them like a dog with his tail between his legs." Everybody just assumed he meant Mayweather. But hey, he didn't say it out loud. :)

If that is not a cowardly act, then what is it.
My thoughts are Manny cant find anymore opponents to fight that are a serious threat to him because he or roach is unwilling to match him with those type of opponents for a reason. Also i think the Rios fight hurt Manny more than helped him..... i would imagine he is receiving a bit of backlash for cherry picking Rios in his last fight and then not being able to finish him..... not to mention Rios has no buisness in the ring with him to begin with.
My thoughts is Manny needs floyd a lot more than floyd needs Manny and Manny is desperate for a mega payday with floyd and NEEDS floyds name on his resume ... win or lose.

Manny being vocally aggressive proves Floyd to be right. Manny is desparate. He is behaving out of character to try to corner Floyd into a fight because he needs the payday now. He is trying to pull a Shane Mosley (when he entered the ring to challenge Floyd) after the Marquez fight. He may get what Shane got!
