I'm a junior middleweight and there's 2 Heavyweight girls at my gym that I've sparred before. I'm not tryin to break anyone's ribs in sparring or anything but if I'm hitting too hard they just tell me to ease up and it's fine.
I've done a sparring session or two with a girl, but usually its shadow sparring we do since I tend to be much bigger than most of the girls in my gym. My gym tries not to do mixed gender sparring but it can happen if the two people are roughly the same size and skill level. Luckily my gym doesn't really have any inflated ego's or disrespectful attitudes, but I can see how it can lead to some problems at other gyms.
When I was a young man, women didn't really frequent gyms as they do now. We're talkin almost 20 years ago, a lot's changed.
That said, a few gyms I've kept up with and worked out of in my recent years, ladies spar with the guys...I treat them like I would anyone else, we start crossin lines and you wanna fight now, no longer lookin to spar, I'll waste no time putting you in your place.
Don't fckin care, guy or girl.
Nope
I'm a female boxer and we spare box with boys, and thats about it.
I have.
Don't try to really hurt them but of course don't get beat.
I was wondering whether it's just my gym that's still segregated by gender.
