Definitely Lennox. He fought and beat much better opposition, and was overall a much better fighter IMO.
Despite Lewis being notorious for not having the greatest of chins, compared to Wlad he has the greatest chin of all-time.
Lennox also hits harder and is a way better finisher. I'll give Wlad a slight speed advantage, but that's about it.
In a way they're obviously very similar. Big dudes, athletic for their size, unreliable chins, and had the great Emanuel Steward in their corners.
Lennox fought in a MUCH better era, had really good wins, was more of a killer when he hurt people, and was a much more consistent fighter all-around.
So I got Lennox big time in this fight. I respect Wladimir for sure, but to me he doesn't hold a candle to Lennox
After seeing Lennix beat Vitali, I don't see how Wladimir could win. Perhaps he could KO Lewis early since both have glass jaws, but Lennox is a bit more athletic against far superior opposition. Even an old Holyfield or an old Tyson is better competition than anybody on Wlad's ledger. Lewis KO3 Klitschko
Great question Matt and welcome back too. I will answer this later today after I come back from church. Alright this is to me a very competitive match up between two very tall fghters with a great reach, and jabs so you are probably going to have an excellent boxing match between two big guys here though they both also have excellent power and at times suspect chins too.
Lennox Lewis
Hgt: 6'5"
Reach: 84
Record: 41-2-1 with 32 kayo's
Vladimir Klitschko
Hgt: 6'6"
Reach: 81
Record: 60-3-0 with 51 kayo's.
I believe that Lewis is faster and that Klitchko hits a little harder. This bout would have some exciting moments and probably some dull moments too. Brother Vitali had Lewis beat but lost due to cuts. Vladimir would also probably give Lewis some scary moments as well during the fight but Lewis would win a very close and perhaps even a split decision victory in my opinion.
In my opinion Wladimir is slightly better than Vitali. Vitali lost against Lewis in 2003 but I still don't think Wladimir could beat Lennox.
Lennix Lewis
Lennox, hands down
Size-wise, Lennox is almost as big as Wlady, so that amazing height disparity would only be minimal. and while Wlady has never had to deal with an opponent his own size, Lennox has faced and beaten two of the biggest HWs of all times in Michael Grant and Vital Klitchko, knocking both of them out
as far as boxing, both fighters can be be cautious at times, although Wlad is far more tepid throughout the course of the fight. both have excellent jabs, and fierce right hands, but Lewis gets the edge because he mixes in his riight hand bombs early and often.....remember what he did to the red-hot Andrew Golota in less than a single round???
how about experience?
Lennox has KOd Wlady's own flesh and blood in his final fight....aftter KOing Mike Tyson a year earlier, after beating Evander Holyfield to unify all 3 belts, oh and not to mention having wins over top contenders like Ray Mercer, and Tommy Morrison
what legends has Wlady ever beat? David Haye? Sam Peter? yeah, he fought Mercer, when Mercer was like 45 and fighting in mixed martial arts......who then? Chris Byrd?? please!!!
both these guys have suspect chins, but Lennox has avenged all of his defeats where as Wlady has not...
i pick Lennox
If Lennox can beat Vitali, Wlad doesn't stand a chance against him. The only question is which round Lennox KO's Wlad.
IMO, Lewis wins as Wlad does not like being backed up and big punchers nearly his own height with a punch are trouble for him. Once hit he loses all balance, coordination and cannot take the second big punch.
12 rounds.
