Lewis on the other hand has not met a foe as wily, skillful and experienced as Holmes who also possessed the best jab in heavyweight history..
Given that I think I am going with Holmes to win by close but unanimous decision over Lewis utilizing his better jabbing, constant lateral movements and hard counter punching to prevent the Briton from launching any meaningful attack on the outside and connecting with powerful hooks and another of his favorite weapon---the uppercut to bang him in inside fighting. Lewis of course will take the initiative from the opening bell and also have his moments and make the fight closer in the end by finishing stronger.
Larry Holmes all the way. I will give him this by decision. He was adaptable and could fight boxers and punchers alike. He had one great jab and right hand. He had heart stamina and determination. That would be too much for Lewis too handle. Holmes in his prime is top 5. Lewis is barely top 10. Styles make fights and Holmes style beats Lewis style.
Although Lewis was taller and heavier he had a major flaw. He'd lean in with his hands held low, reducing his height advantage. Holmes can afford to be patient and count the jab attempt with his owe , fast snapping jab. Holmes could hit hard too, but IMO had the better chin. Holmes scores an UD or stops Lewis in a late round TKO stoppage by the ref.
Larry schools Lewis. He's faster, got some great lateral movements and superior boxing skills than Lennox.
Lewis may have the reach, but Holmes had a better chin, so I am going with Larry Holmes.
Lewis by a close Decision
Lennox Lewis became too good for anyone to beat for real.
holmes is the quicker of the two throughout, and would be the victor by 12 round ko.
