Jr. Middleweight bout. Thomas Hearns vs Julian Jackson. Who wins?

If this match-up came off in the mid 80‘s - within 3 minutes of the opening bell - Thomas Hearns would blow Julian Jackson into the next neighborhood, period!

5” reach advantage, almost 3” height advantage, and one of the hardest hitters EVER?

Not even close.

At 154 lbs. - at which Jackson never fought - in his prime, nobody could stand in front of Thomas Hearns.

At an “emaciated” 147 lbs. (Ray Leonard’s “quote“) Hearns kicked Ray Leonard‘s behind for fourteen rounds; cost Ray his eyesight.

Must say, to suggest Julian Jackson could in stand in front of Tommy - for any amount of time, when Hearns was “game-on” - is preposterous, with all due respect to Mr. Jackson.

These two guys have the capacity to blow each other's head off and one thing's for certain, this wont last the distance. I cant tell clearly who's had the advantage in power but if there's one thing that separates these two warriors, it's skill. Tommy will outbox Jackson the whole 5 rounds. That flicker jab was indeed an effective weapon that even Leonard's caliber had the hardest time to solve. Julian will simply have no answer and in six Tommy flattens him with that thunderous looping right. Hitman hits the mark. Boom! Right on the butt. Julian never gets up.

Final verdict

Thomas Hearns wins via KO in 6

Thomas Hearns wins sometime before the third round, but Jackson was skilled enough that it wouldn't surprise me if he would have gotten the knock out.

Thomas Hearns would knock Julian Jackson out. It would be a one sided fight for as long as it lasted.
