Ken Norton has a peek-a-boo style like Archie Moore that can nullify a good jab and is effective against a straight right. That was why Ken fought well against Muhammad Ali and Larry Holmes. But this style couldn't stop a good hook/uppercut type of fighter. Archie Moore was KO by Floyd Patterson and Ken couldn't survive the uppercut of George Foreman and the left hook of Gerry Cooney. Another factor is that Ken need a few round to warm up, he was a slow starter while Joe come out smokin hot, relentlessly attacking the head and body of Ken Norton with viscious hooks. After eating two or three of those left hooks right on the chin, Ken was mercifully rescued by the referee while laying lifelessly on the rope.
This is an easy one. Joe Frazier would demolish Ken Norton inside of 5 rounds. The left hook would be the equalizer. This was Fraziers big punch. If and when it landed on Nortons glass jaw the fight would be over. The fighters who could punch knocked Norton out early i.e. Foreman in 2 rounds and Shavers in 1 round. Norton would also be knocked out by big left hooking Joe Frazier.
i dont think this fight woudnt be as easy as people make it out to be norton has height and reach also respectable power but not like foreman and shavers and frazier has the better chin i think frazier would stand up to nortons best shots but norton woudnt be able to take fraziers frazier knocks norton out in round 10
this one is competitive for 10 rounds, but norton wilts under the pressure in the championship rounds. joe takes a ud or late stoppage.
Norton wins most of the time
frazier by late stoppage
These two were friends and they didn't want to fight, despite fighting in the same era. Both have wins over Muhammad Ali. Who wins?
