Any of Rios or Alvarado, especially Rios is a dangerous opponent for Pacquiao who is coming back from a devastating KO loss to JMM. Don't sell Rios short. He was a welterweight at fight time when he was still fighting at lightweight and most probably, he was already a junior middleweight, if not a full grown middleweight at fight time fighting at junior welterweight. I think the extra weight costed him in the losing rematch vs. Alvarado because he was not as fast and explosive as in their first fight. Alvarado might have pulled off the decision win but he was the one who suffered and showed the bigger physical damage after the bout.
Pacquiao has not fought a foe with Rios style and approach of fighting. Rios is younger and physically stronger but equally energetic and durable compared to Pacquiao. November is still far off. I won't believe that Arum is really bent on pitting Pacquiao against the young bull *** tiger until then. It might be a publicity ploy meant to keep Pacquiao as grist of discussion.
I can't believe Brandon will be holding out that long without even a tune up. I know Brandon as a busy fighter.
Brandon is not one-dimensional. He reminds me very much of the young and prime Roberto Duran/Julio Cesar Chavez
Ok now this my friends, is the DEFINITION of cherry-picking.
It's meant to be a showcase for Pacquiao nothing more. Rios is a slow, cumbersome, C-Class, unbelievably one-dimensional brawler who isn't even a welterweight AND is coming off a loss hahah. This is supposed to be an exhibition for Pacquiao in an attempt to make him look sensational again after getting put to sleep by Marquez lol. Typical Arum tactic. I can't wait to hear people trying to talk this one up. The Pacquiao dickriders will eat it right up.
Don't get me wrong it will be an action packed fight for sure, but it's still a joke lol.
I love how all the pacquiao fanatics constantly point the finger at mayweather for his supposed "cherry picking", despite the fact that Floyd took on a young, in his prime fighter with only one early loss, and coming off a great win at the same weight, and now pacquiao is fighting a guy who was not long ago at lightweight and is coming off a loss. you couldn't get more obvious cherry picking than that...they don't even deny it. they want him because he's hittable!
the article says "trainer Freddie Roach said Pacquiao plans to prepare for the fight in General Santos City in the Philippines in order to avoid distractions".....in other words, he's going to the Philippines where he can get back on the steroids easily and hopefully avoid getting KO'd again.
Funny how a lot of people say that Pacquiao is now the one cherry-picking. News Flash, Bob Arum is the one calling the shots not Pacquiao. Its always been Bob Arum who chooses the opponents for Pacquiao.
It will definitely be fan friendly. I think that Pacquiao can pull out a victory but it will be hard fought. I would like to see Rios-Alvarado III myself, but this should be a good fight.
And they call Mayweather a cherry picker.... Look alvarado dominated rios in the rematch and he should of got the pacquiao fight. pacquiao chose rios because he was easier than alvarado. rios is a one dimensional fighter... pacquiao is a fraud.
anyone thinking rios has a shot is fooling themselves.. pacquiao puts a clinic on rios.. pacquiaos footwork and hand speed will destroy rios. this is margarito vs pacquiao all over again. this is a good fight for pactards though.. just what they need to lift their spirits up. im sure klambreath is farting rainbows now.
GUERRERO AND ORTIZ ARE ONE DIMENSIONAL, I NEVER SAW NO NIKKA WHINE ABOUT THAT ESE. OF COURSE FLOYD FOUGHT THE SUPAH SLICK, MOST TALENTED BOXER OF ALL TIME IN CARLOS BALDOMIR! BUT YOW RIGHT THOUGH. RIOS WOULD JUST BE KNOCKED THE HELL OUT BY THE SMALL MAN FROM ASIA. DAMN, MANNY WANTED A REMATCH WITH JMM AND HE WANTED FLOYD BUT.. BUT.. OK IMA LET YOU REBUTT
easy win for pacquiao but that a fair opponent considering the devastating loss pacquiao is coming off.i dunno why all these fools are talkin about cherry picking for.they musn't of saw pac's last fight.
There is a old saying in boxing (you can run but you can't hide). I don't think this is the type of fight Manny should be in after just getting knocked out in his last fight. Manny is not a great boxer he is going to be fighting someone who is going to walk him down. I SEE MANNY GETTING KNOCKED OUT AGAIN.
What do you think of the match-up? Roach says he's happy that Arum opted for Rios instead of Alverado, as he is more hittable.
Good match-up?, or another one dimentional brawler for Pac to dispose of?
What are your thoughts?
