He lost one fight against a very good boxer, its not the end of the world. He is a world class boxer and is still in his prime so I think he will bounce back from this set back. There are many hugh fights for him in and around his weight division so I expect to see him get back to where he was.
Each fighter has a certain limit to their potentials. Has Nonito reach his at 122 lbs.? I think it's premature to hazard a guess at this point in time based on one losing fight, despite how one-sided it was in the view of many. The question therefore is can Nonito maintain the same level he has reached or even improve on it in the future at 122 or 126 lbs.? I think the answer lies in his performance in the next coming fights, most especially his comeback bout after the loss to Guillermo Rigondeux.
I can't believe that a fighter who was the toast of the boxing community for his performance the last two, three years, especially last year, would deteriorate that fast. I think he just met his better in Rigo but that does not mean he is already on the slide.
donaire is still a great fighter. He needs to move up in weight though. Just cause Rigo was not a big name does not mean he is not a great fighter. The guy has the best defensive technique in boxing and is elusive as hell. Yes even better than mayweather. I really don't see anyone beating Rigo that easy. Donaire needs to move up in weight and really become a factor in that weight class.
To fight Rigo again would be a bad outcome a snooze feast also i really don't think he has the skill to beat Rigo since Rigo is a tough puzzle to figure out.
I think he's gotta go up to 126 and reestablish himself there. At the end of the day he lost to aj extremely gifted fighter but he looked TERRIBLE. If he put on a performance and just lost it'd be one thing but it was horrible. If I was him I'd stay away from slick counter punchers and fight more straight forward fighters.
Yes he should fight Chris John and I will actually be a fan of his if he does do it.
No donaire cannot fight anymore
i always thought he was a passing fad so to speak.
Do you believe he will reach the same levels again in the future?
