Is the speed bag really good for timing? Really?

what's it good for? muckin around?....been doing it for 2 days and no results anywhere...

U do have to think fast and hit it fast, like...right on time. Try the double ended speed bag, your can do the same cycle stuff, but u also have the side to side movements, as if to catch someone bobbing and weaving n moving their head side to side real fast, n u have to catch it like a cat. If it didn't work to keep your sharpness, the pros would not waste time on it.

Yes of course speed bag good for timing

The speed bag can help improve your hand and eye coordination and it takes time to learn to do it correctly.

I have known excellent boxers who could not work the speed bag well so being able to do it does not make you a good boxer and not being able to do it does not mean are not a good boxer.

Yes, for timing but also anticipation. But note that the speed bag does not punch back. Nothing like putting it to practice in sparring..

I have used a speed bag in my home now going on 45 years. Therapy, stress reliever, along with great workout. boxing is about rythem and this requires rythem.

Guy, you've been doing it for two days. Would you lift weights for two days and then complain about lack of results? For shame, son.
