They're fighting at 152lb, not at welterweight.
EDIT: Canelo can definitely cut to 152lb, and all that $$$ he's going to make for two pounds he could easily shed will make up for it.
Canelo fought at 150lb against Matthew Hatton two years ago. There's no rehydration limit for this fight, and Canelo puts on like twenty to twenty-five pounds after the weigh-in, which is what the issue is.
Floyd can make 152lb easy, and will put on basically no weight afterwards since he basically walks around at that weight.
Canelo will be a light-heavyweight when he gets in the ring. Dude will weigh like 170-175lb when the bell rings.
They were supposed to be fighting at a catchweight of 152 according to ESPN.
If Canelo can't make 152 then he should say no and Mayweather can fight someone else.
I've just read a post that Floyd and Canelo will fight at 147 lbs. How true was it?
Enlighten me people. Damn I was supposed to bow my head to Floyd for taking on Canelo. But not at 147. Alvarez is a natural middleweight. I heard he can't go down to the welters.
