Epic one punch brutal KO power? No...
Come on, let's be honest. He took longer than needed to take on Josesito Lopez. A fight that should not have gone past 4. He never really hurt Mosley. He managed to hurt Austin Trout once but that's it. You figure with all the power he is said to have, he would have managed to end the fight later.
Of course. Lopez has a lot of heart, Mosley has a chin and Trout definitely did not want to let this opportunity pass but come on.
Lopez was a 140 dude who jumped to face Ortiz, then another jump for Canelo? Come on... He failed to impress me there
Mosley got dropped by Pacquiao at 147. What's worse, Mosley was running the whole fight. With Canelo, Mosley at least attempted and offense. Another interesting Mosley has compared Canelo's power to Mayweathers and we all know Mayweather isn't known for being a power puncher. Interesting huh?
Trout got hurt bad in round 7. I understand not being able to finish in the same round but that chin was definitely rocked hard. Another clean shot like that and Canelo could have ended it. That did not happen since Canelo got tired. If you are tired, it's difficult to pull of another big punch.
So, let's assume Canelo picked up power after the Lopez. He lacks conditioning. After a couple of rounds, Canelo's power will be average. So average that he fails to hurt his opponent for the next five remaining rounds.
Canelo either has overrated power or conditioning problems. From my opinion though, he has both. The only true way to tell though is to see Floyd wobbly. The only time I recall Mayweather wobbly was with a Mosley punch. Mosley has been known for packing a punch so if Canelo can wobble Mayweather, he still won't have the brutal power people say, but we can safely say that he has a good punch.
The only way that Canelo can prove his supposed brutal power is by putting Floyd out for the count.
Hell no.
Canelo hit very hard. You can look all the swollen eyes of Shane Mosley and also the boxers whom got KOed/TKOed by his power.
Canelo's power reminded me the power of Oscar De La Hoya in his prime.
sugar shane said he cant hit no harder than floyd mayweather lol i figured that anyway, he's definitely not a devastating puncher at all it seemed pretty average to me he prolly cant even hit AS hard as floyd mayweather honestly and floyd mayweather aint no real hard hitter.. Canelo is really overrated all together i wish him the best but he's very ordinary i think he's a young mexican tough good looking athlete and doesnt really run like a little bit** he'll exchange so people kinda cling to him cuz they dont have much to cling to these days but thats really all he is thats why floyd is fighting him really lol but he's cool tho i actually dont mind watching him
Not like Golovkin but honestly he's the only one who could challenge Golovkin not Mathysse because he's to small.
yep, cuz his nuthuggers claims trout was a real test...
man trout was a B-level fighter who got no power in his punches...he wins by running all night
What do you think ? and please real boxing fans only no Bandwagon Canelo fans lol, do you think his power is overrated and hyped or is it as powerful as the the SHOWTIME/HBO Commentators make it seem. I think he has power but not like Matthysse or Golovkin type power. Cause I mean who has he Knockout? ...anyways boxing fans let your voice be heard :)
